General Motors reports that Volt sales in April came in at 1,306 units, a number that’s down 10.7 percent compared to April 2012 sales of 1,462.

Any ideas on why Volt sales are down this month ?

Lots of guesses, I don't know if anyone really knows.
Leaf is drawing away some sales probably with their new lower cost base model (phenomenal deal:)).
Absolutely awful marketing?
Dealer hostility towards the Volt possibly spreading?
More competition from other PHEVs?
BMW and Audi owners that had been switching to the Volt are now switching to the Model S?
Or it could be a short term fluke?

I know the large incentive package makes Norway a special case, but I still get a kick out of the fact that Nissan sold ~ twice as many LEAFs in Norway, as the compliance BEV manufactures, Ford, Toyota and Honda (combined) sold in the USA last month.

Nissan LEAF becomes Norway’s second best selling car

Nissan's fully electric LEAF supermini became the second-best selling car in Norway last month, selling 455 models in April.

In total 495 electric cars sold in the country last month, giving electric vehicles a 3.5 per cent overall market share. In total, Norway had more than 11,000 electric cars on the road-impressive for a country with a population of just five million...

I recently went to look at a Volt after I had looked at the Leaf. The dealer only had 2 2012 models and they would not lease them. It turns out I didn't like the Volt as much as the Leaf anyway so it doesn't bother me, but the fact that there are dealerships out there that can't get any new Volts (as production is stopped) and only have 2012 models left and can't lease them could be one reason numbers are down. Many people that can afford a perpetual Volt lease cannot afford to buy one due to tax credits not being fully utilized. (This is my position)
