Beware if trading in or selling a Leaf

I can't even get my N scale layout to sell on CL, it's been on there for 2 months at bargain basement pricing.

Beware if trading in or selling a Leaf

Ok I traded the Leaf in for a 2009 IS250 with 75,000 miles that they sold me for $19,000 every option including Mark Levinson system. It seems like a fair deal to me and I got the color I wanted Starfire Pearl aka Pearl White. I brought my first full tank of premium this weekend for $47...

Beware if trading in or selling a Leaf

I got $22,600 for it, never had such a hard time selling a car, hopefully when EV becomes more mainstream this won't be an issue.

    Buy This Battery?

Don't panic folks, I'm sure some aftermarket company will start making batteries for the Leaf and drive the price of the oem battery down. In the RC world when everyone went from Nitro ICE to brushless and lithium polymer batteries the price was sky high, as soon as the Chinese figured out a...

Wow it's holding value well  BTW $4600 for a pain in the azz Maxima is alittle steep.

    LEAF Collision Experiences

Glad to hear the car kept you protected from an SUV in a crash, how did the battery do in the wreck?

    Buy This Battery?

I leased it, and in 3 years, 9 months good luck to Nissan trying to sell it. BTW I leased it cause there's no better car to own when your broke and 4 days away from your next paycheck.

    Buy This Battery?

Most will run from this car except the EV purist because either way in 10 years you end up with a car that either needs an $18,000 replacement part or a $100 monthly bill, not to mention the fact that it's still a car with limited range. Hopefully the battery holds up and ages well otherwise...

New to the Game. Thinking of buying

I charge pretty much exclusively at work so basically I have transportation for the cost of lease payment and insurance. In addition to the savings it also requires very little maintenance.

    Buy This Battery?

If the price of a new battery is indeed $18,000 then the resale value of these cars at 60,000 to 80,000 miles will be close to the scrap value of the metals.

Beware if trading in or selling a Leaf

I just had someone hit me up from Oregon interested in the car :o Thats long haul from NC shipping will make it too expensive and I imagine that if they tried to drive it cross country it would take a month  According to some of my local dealers the market for EV's in my area is...

    NC Leaf Owners

The museum is having some big financial issues right now and I wouldn't want to be a burden, also I will be trying to sell my Leaf, until then I think it will be easier to just ride my motorcycle to the museum.

Beware if trading in or selling a Leaf

Portland is a world apart from NC, how much is gas in Portland? That could be a motivating factor. Speaking of gas, went to NYC on vacation $4.04 a gallon for regular and $13 toll to cross into NYC from NJ  That's extortion!

Beware if trading in or selling a Leaf

Good point, I do like the interior, but I hate the build a tree meter, I think we would be better served by it being a brake application meter, that way we could regen as much as possible.

Beware if trading in or selling a Leaf

The range is fine for my commute, on the weekends I'm left wanting more range but I do have a back up (motorcycle). Have not had any battery issues, build quality is actually the best I've ever gotten from Nissan. I love the fact that I'm not wasting kinetic energy when slowing down, the...

Beware if trading in or selling a Leaf

Your right, I do have a case of buyers remorse, my fault. I'll probably just keep it rather than take a massive hit on a trade in since I am still saving alot of money compared to a conventional car. My point is that it seems that in my local area the Leaf doesn't hold it's value as well...

Beware if trading in or selling a Leaf

Fair warning to prospective Leaf buyers in NC and VA, if you buy this car or lease plan on keeping it till the end, I inquired about trading it in and posted it for sale and most dealers don't want it and the few that actually put a number on it lowballed the hell out of it. The trade in...
