    Visor Extension grew!

One of my pet peeves with the 2011 was the ridiculously short visors. I was happy when Nissan added pull out visor extensions (not sure when but my 2013 has them). I have them on my 2001 grand cherokee (and they go all the way to the B pillar) and love them. What I wasn't so happy about is...

    Cleaning the steering wheel

My 2014 has the leather steering wheel (not sure if they all do..). Who thought of making a nearly white steering wheel I don't know, but while my job isn't *that* dirty, the steering wheel is clearly pretty gross after 7000 miles. Much dirtier than my 2011 got after 3 years. But the 2011 was...

Carwings no longer works at my house

My charge routine is the car is set to 80% and starts charging as soon as I get home form work. Then the car sits overnight at 80% and I have a server that starts manual charging via the web portal at 5am so it's at 100% by the time I'm ready to leave for work the next morning. As of last week...

    Leaf Control on Google Glass

My geek cup overfloweth today. I hacked this together. Really, it's pretty ugly. But it works. Well charging does. It interfaces with my leaf portal proxy..

Advanced Charging Technologies (A.C.T.) "newsletter" (spam)

I got a newsletter in my inbox just now from Advanced Charging Technologies (A.C.T.). I've never heard of the company. But they sent the email to the email address that only Nissan has. Thanks for sharing my email Nissan. Not cool. Anyone else get this email?

    headliner sunglass holder removal

Can anyone give me a hint on how to remove the headliner console that contains the sunglass holder? I see no screws or anything, but I don't want to just start pulling. All I want to do is remove the sunglass door but only one side comes out. I think there is a screw on the other side.

    Lease ending options

Lease is up on my leaf mid Jan. I went to two dealers today. I see the experience is still as horrible as always. I will forgo the rant about the useless "vultures" they have circling the lot as soon as you pull in that know NOTHING about cars or finances. First dealer had me there 45 minutes...

    Cap for antenna

I unscrewed the antenna sticking out of the roof because I wanted to put my ham radio antenna there (without running the coax across the roof) Anyone ever remove the antenna long term? I would like to find a cap to put over the exposed connector.

    "A self test fault occurred"

Starting yesterday I've had a red screen pop up after plugging in saying "A self test fault occurred" and telling me to tap the screen to reset the system. It does some 1 minute softboot, and I get the normal screen, but the same thing happens when I plug in again. Yesterday I unplugged the...

    My new charge schedule

Facts: My PV array makes more on-peak than I use. I haven't paid for ANY on peak power since I got the system a year ago. I have 1.6MWh of on peak credit right now. I want to start using on-peak power to charge my car, but it isn't home most of the day. Peak is 9am to 9pm for me. I can't just...

Inverter capable of running the leaf charger

Has anyone seen an inverter that can run an EVSE and leaf charger? I'm flexible on the input voltage. I need to offset some of my on peak solar to off peak. I want to charge batteries during the day and use it to charge the car at night.

    cleaning panels

My panels are really dirty, and I can see I'm losing a few kwh a day. It hasn't rained here in a while. Should I just go up there with a hose and hose them off or is that a bad idea?

    3 Phase TED alternative?

For at least 2 years, TED has been saying they have a three phase version of their power meter coming soon. But as far as I'm concerned its vaporware. Anyone know of an alternative? I have 3 phase power at the office, but I don't have a meter. The power company says they use current...

    10k mile/ 1 year report

1 day after having the car 1 year I hit 10000 miles. I can't believe I've had the car a whole year. Today I realized I've only washed it once. lol. I've been charging to 100% every day. I still have the "old" firmware. No real problems to report. Though I have been noticing some minor...

    Optical Meter Probe

So I bought a used probe figuring I could do *something* with it. It's a US Microtel PM-500. It snaps on the power meter's optical port. Has anyone ever seen information on interfacing with this thing? I mean last resort, I'll just build one of these http://www.solarshare.net/HT/OC/oc.htm"...

    SOC Gauge update

Some of you have been asking about the SOC gauge. The plan: The estimated cost is going to be near the $200 mark. Maybe $175. It's going to have several more features other than just the SOC gauge. Mostly convenience features. (clear the "I agree", possibly a "charge to n %" feature, etc)...
