Time magazine declares Leaf a flop

And the funny thing about what "gaswalla" stated was the same FUD that was raised against Prius! Remember how the cost of replacing the battery was going to make that hybrid car pretty much dead on arrival? I suppose this sort of argument is par for the course for any technological change that...

Had mine installed by Parkin Electric (contracted by the EV project). They did a very professional job. The installation was fairly easy, since a 220 v drop was already available in the garage (previous homeowner's second dryer). I have had some problems with it not starting, stopping in the...

    What's a new 2012 worth ?

Not sure about your local deals, but here in Portland OR metro, $299/mo (for 39 months) lease with $0 down was enough incentive for me to trade in the 2007 Prius for the second LEAF SL of the household!

2011, 2012 Nissan Leaf Leasing Information

Thanks for the info. Glad to hear you got a great deal from Beaverton. I've always had a tough time dealing with them. I went ahead with the Nissan of Portland deal ($299/m for 39 months). Happy to report this will be the second household leaf, replacing a 2007 Prius!

2011, 2012 Nissan Leaf Leasing Information

Which dealer? All the locals I've looked at advertise the standard Nissan price of $319/month for the lease!

Got the 12-month inspection/service notice. Has anyone done this locally? What exactly does the dealer do, and how much did it cost? Thanks in advance for the thoughts and input!

Inquired about this on my last dealer visit for the software update and was told that the whole wiper blade unit must be replaced, yes the one that detaches from the arm. Costs about $30 a pair.

    Headlight assembly replacement, FYI

Had to replace one of the LED headlights (the whole assembly) this week. Initially the Royal Moore service folks thought it could be the relay but changing it did not help. I am posting this as an FYI and heads-up to the local group. This issue has been reported elsewhere in the forum...

Double-check your postcard from Oregon Dept. of Energy to make sure it says "2011 Tax credit ..." We submitted the application in early November, and received it at the end of November. Did you buy the car in 2011 or 2012? Could be possible that DOR thinks it applies to 2012 tax year (or as...

My understanding is that "apron upgrade" applies to the 2012 models.

I theorize it may have to do with the drop in the early morning temperature. Our Leaf used to travel three days on a charge to and from Lloyd Center area (Starting in Beaverton), with 20 miles left. After the last charge (two days ago), it managed only two days with 30 miles left. FYI, the...

Yes UPS dropped it off a couple of days ago. It was unexpected and was accompanied by a letter from Nissan thanking us for purchasing the leaf! I'm assuming everyone will get it. Did everyone get a new e-mail requesting response to a new survey? I thought the questions regarding the ordering...

I may have seen it (around Southridge high a few weeks ago). No response to my previous sighting message. Saw a blue one yesterday in park blocks (SW Park and Columbia) around 4 PM with Wilsonville dealer temp plate. Silent running! :)

Speaking of libraries, does anyone know about the status of the charger next to the Beaverton Library (on Hall Blvd). Every time I pass by it seems to be out of commission. Has it ever worked? Did anyone use it?

You may wish to think so, and I might too. But it is my understanding that Nissan starts building the car once an actual order with a dealer has been finalized, hence the pecking order. Many of us have been frustrated with the yo-yo game of the "delivery status update" and sympathize with you...

Understandable, but noting some people have been waiting 8 months or more for their vehicle should take a bit of sting out of the waiting game, wouldn't you say?

    Deceptively fast?

Very true. I also own a 2007 Prius, and it feels outright "clunky" compared to the Leaf. Significant other refuses to drive the Prius now. Leaf or nothing is her motto ! :)

I didn't get it but saw a red LEAF (again) this morning on 125th heading toward Southridge high school. I was waiting at the bus stop, and spotted the logo on the side of the car!

I actually know of two people who are ready and willing to buy one right now. I don't think Nissan has any left for this year's allocation.
