Why would anyone pay $32,000 for a used leaf?

On the lease thing- don't forget that if you buy a 2011 demo or otherwise "new" 2011 Leaf, Nissan STILL hits you with a residual value based on MSRP no matter what you actually paid for the car. In other words, they are charging you the same residual after the car is 51 months old as they were when it would only be 39 months old. This is another reason to buy out the lease early if that option is available.

You live in SD and use the word Cally? Any person that lives in CA that uses that term should self deport.

agreed.
regardless of his born-and-bred status.

as to the advice on tax credit. of course, you cannot get back what you dont pay; that only happens with corporate tax credits; ala GE.
It is sad that some are learning that abuse of EV credits in previous years by those who fraudulently claimed it for ICEs has created added scrutiny and delay in refunds.

as to complaints about high sales taxes, how else do you pay for services? you cant have prop 13 along with low sales taxes and a non-progressive income tax that means someone earning $47K at the same rate as someone making $999,999.

after that, very high earners pay 1% on everything above that with all the money going to mental health care. and we wouldnt even have that without the referendum process because a minority in the legislature has kept us from funding government.

enough of the liberal talk.
