    12V Battery Dead

    1) Is anyone keeping a log of the incidents of 12V battery deaths? If so, add mine: 14 months old, 9800 miles. My husband went out on Sunday night and the car would not turn on, no interior lights, back hatch inoperable, etc. My car is driven about 25 miles a day over multiple trips about six...

    Carwings history

I've had my lovely 2012 Leaf for one year (minus 3 days). For the first six months Carwings dutifully recorded my driving which was lovely. From July - December, it recorded data for a sum total of 26 days. (Neither my driving habits nor my pressing OK every single time I start the car have...

Suggest Cities to See Relative Battery Aging Factor

When you add a new set of cities, would you please consider Raleigh, NC? The city has made a big push into EV-friendliness, especially with NCSU. (Nissan added 42 extra charging stations to my nav system just this past week.) It would be nice to tell people if it's too hot here.

Anyone into electric cycling? Electric Bicycles

Or you could look at this one: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/10/11/technology/start-ups/for-some-drivers-electric-motorcycle-could-be-the-best-of-both-worlds.html?partner=rss&emc=rss" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; which seems to be half car and half bike. Though for that amount of...

How Green Are Electric Cars? Depends on Where You Plug In

My son came home from high school last week and said that they had had a Green advocate come to the school to tell them how to help. My son asked the advocate whether driving an EV would help and she said No! Apparently the school system let someone in who honestly told the class that EVs were...

What Kind of LEAF owner are you

--Owner --Four season climate: 20 - 100 deg F --Only L2 --Commuter --Low Mileage --Mixed speeds --I believe we need a new paradigm. And I believe that those who understand this need to put our money where our mouths are. Being a first adopter can really stink, but someone has to do it. Can...

Open Letter from Nissan, September 22, 2012

The last new car I bought I expected to drive into the ground 12 years later. But then I consider the special stationary I found in the closet last month: I got it as a gift in high school and liked it too much to use it on anything that wasn't worthy which means that umpteen years later, I've...

Open Letter from Nissan, September 22, 2012

+1 on "range to automated nagging to plug in the car" I charge to 80% regularly per Nissan's recommendation. With occasional highway (3.5 mpkwh), occasional climate control, and fairly careful driving, I can go about 50 miles before I need to recharge for my 25 miles the next day. That's the...

    Poor view

+1 and again +1 (if I get two votes) I love just about everything about my Leaf, but the visibility is not nearly as good as I would like it to be. The blind spot on the left with the strut between driver window & back seat ain't that great either.

Carwings website rankings haven't updated beyond 12/29

I am using Carwings to keep track of things like highway driving effects and driving habits of my husband vs me. I've never had regenerative braking before now and I'm still playing with the effects of little things like accelerating slightly on the downhills to avoid having to use so much power...

    100 Mile Club, 200 km, 300 km, 200 Mile Club (24kWh LEAF)

No, I never use anything but eco. This little project involved staying firmly away from the highway so max speed was probably around 45 for the 110 miles. It's a lot less fun to drive, though, when you limit yourself to only two little bubbles lit. Blah. Having finished this challenge, I am now...

    100 Mile Club, 200 km, 300 km, 200 Mile Club (24kWh LEAF)

Add me as a member: 110.3 miles over 1 charge. (low battery at 95, vlb at 109.7). Took us almost a week to get there, but.... No highway driving but lots and lots of stupid red lights around Raleigh, NC. Average energy economy on dash 5.5 mi/kw for this charge only. Average temperatures around...

    NC Leaf Owners

Driving in downtown Raleigh today I passed the Progress Energy Center and saw a set of solar panels which looked to be charging about 4 or 5 leafs. I rarely come there and didn't have time to turn around and investigate. Anyone know what that was?
