Thanks for organizing everyone. I'll definitely show up as well. Looking forward to meeting some other fantastic EV fanatics. Besides the occasional Tesla, there's way to much ICE action on the roads round these parts.

For those interested in EVSE upgrades:
I don't yet know how many completed units I'll be able to bring to the meeting, but the people who have paid for new ones get first crack. If I have any left over, then anyone who wants to trade (immediate upgrade) can, as long as the EVSE you wish to swap is in like-new condition. I cannot accept any that are beat up, etc.

Please be sure you have your paid receipt and your signed release form with you!

If you have prepaid and you cannot get an EVSE at the meeting for whatever reason, we can refund your money, or you can go ahead and use shipping to get it done after the meeting, so there is no risk except the convenience factor.

Phil, can't we just send the EVSE back with instead of paying for shipping? It would seem silly otherwise...

Although I've paid for mine, I'll gladly accept a return by mail if someone else has an immediate need for an upgraded one.

I prepaid by Paypal but I do not have a copy of the release form. Did I miss it in the ordering process?

Thanks to all for the enthusiasm towards gathering #3. I've counted 21 "planning to attend" and I'm sure we'll have 5-10 more who do not post actively. Given that we have limited inside (collective) time for this one, I'd like to put together some sort of informal agenda. While there there is no shortage of active conversation at our meetings, I feel there are a few things we should discuss as a group. So here is my strawman list of topics to cover--please feel free to add and comment:
Welcome
Meeting on a regular schedule (e.g., 2nd Saturday?)
Venue Rotation/Suitability (e.g., is there a place that can support 30+ people?)
Sub group formation (North, South, a and b meetings? This will depend on how many we get)
Affiliations with other EVA's (e.g., Golden Gate and Silicon Valley EVA)
Joint meetings with Sac LEAF Enthusiasts
Advocacy effort support (yes/no, what type, etc.)
"Private" plug share network (guess who does not have an iPhone)
Guest Speaker #1 (ChargePoint America program and possibly some free charge cards)
Guest Speaker #2 (Can't wait to see what Bill is up to)
L1 EVSE Mod (haven't actually asked Phil yet, but obviously there's a ton of interest)
Suggestions and volunteers for future guest speakers
Other
Adjourn to parking lot for some non-polluting fun

I'll try and make it. I have only seen 1 other LEAF on the road so far, so it's going to be nice to see way more :)
Outside of our first two gatherings, I just saw my fifth on Saturday afternoon while my wife and I were shopping for new phones. But it may not count as I suspect it's the same white LEAF from Los Gatos that I see occasionally on my morning commute. I did spot planet4ever in his blue LEAF on I-880 late on Friday afternoon, though (confirmed by p4e).

It would be great if you could attend--haven't seen a black one yet (maybe idunk will bring his?). Plus, having #1 delivery be part of the group would be fun to hear your experiences.

I'm not sure if you have me in the planning to attend bucket or not, but I do. I just got the car Friday.
Congratulations! Hope you are enjoying it already. And, yes, I had you in the attending bucket--I just read through the whole thread to see who sounded optimistic, which is how I got the count. Although I expected 17 at gathering #2 and we got 32

I am a LEAF specialist and would like to invite ANYONE, regardless of where you purchased your vehicle to come use our chargers at Stevens Creek Nissan. I know that there are range issues for people coming to San Jose from Gilroy and such and you are welcome to drop your LEAF off here. I know there was a misunderstanding with a nice lady at our establishment, but we believe that we have remedied any misunderstanding. I encourage you to come see for yourself. My name is Aaron de Priest from Stevens Creek Nissan.

Which will be the first Bay Area Nissan dealer to get a CHAdeMO Level 3 charger?
These 3.3kW J1772 are so slow that one car could tie it up for hours, and anyone else happening by would be out of luck.
The first Bay Area dealer to get a L3 is going to get some good publicity for that.

By the way, how many J1772s do you have?

I am hoping to make it to this gathering. If my Leaf happens to show up this week, I will drive it there from Sunnyvale...

looks like Me and the Leaf meetings are jinxed. I just came to know my brother-in-law will be visiting us from out of country this Friday and Saturday. Apparently he is here on a business trip and wants to spend the Saturday. I tried to reason out with my wife about it being only couple of hours but that didn't go too well.... so now I go into the "may be" bucket again. :-(

Sam, you definitely are jinxed. But it's always good to see family. I'll take some pics and post.

Looks like I'm getting the green light to go  .....normally I'm in charge of the kid's activities on Saturday mornings, so it will be nice to be around some adults for a change.... :D .

Looks like I will be able to make it afterall.
On my wish-list for the meeting: Bill's famous j-turn!

Andy

Haha! I'm not sure I'd want to offend our Public Library hosts, but I'm sure we can find another parking lot...

On a different note, my self-imposed pressure to get my little "project" done for the weekend is looking really good. (Steven) Spies came over last night and lent a much needed helping hand! Barring some unforeseen issues I'll "demo" it Saturday. Gotta fit some testing time in...

Yeah I know after all family comes first. Please do take pics and post and as always the minutes of the meeting would be nice... I am still hoping if somehow I can make it but the chances are very slim..

Picked up my Blue Leaf this afternoon, so I'll be driving it to the event, assuming I can get enough charge back into the battery between now and then. Still waiting to hear from Blink regarding my assessment and L2 installation...

Congratations on getting your new Leaf!

The L1 EVSE that came with the car will work fine for now. It takes longer to charge, but when you get home Friday eve from work, plug it in right away and you should have a full charge by Saturday morning before the meet
