Can the turn signal noise be modified in any way?

Has anyone tried looking at the much quieter 2018+ flasher unit to see if it will swap in? They really did solve the issue with the Gen II Leafs, and they are still mostly Gen I parts...

My wife refers to the turn signal annunciator as "The Time Bomb!" because it is so loud and irritating! When we are on the phone through the car, she can always tell by the loud ticking in the background when I am turning...

Thats my biggest complaint, whenever my wife is driving the Leaf and is on the phone with me(using the BT) and signals, it drives me crazy! it's SO LOUD! Especially if she's at a stop sign with the signals on for an extended period of time, I have to hold the phone away from my ear. Funny thing when I'm actually in the car it doesn't bug me so much but for whatever reason, the speaker for the turn signal must be very near the pickup microphone for the Blue Tooth audio and is very loud for the person on the other line :x

Why don't manufacturers offer, let's say, three Volume Levels ?
