Nope. The xkcd page correctly identifies mm^2 as gallons per mile, not miles per gallon, but then he gets it confused. Even his Wolfram Alpha link has the reciprocal in it.
Unfortunately mm^2 and mm^-2 are not interchangeable!

...and even if you remain focused on only the environmental concerns, there's plenty of reasons to shun fossil fuels beyond than CO2 emissions.

If you didn't already know, you're trying to argue this with someone who spend a lot of time basically arguing that global warming can't be real because the atmosphere would just expand isothermally.
Be prepared for a lot of this:

Do manufacturers get CARB-ZEV credits for selling vehicles in Canada and Europe?
Honest question, because I wouldn't think so and I don't recall any other thus-labeled "compliance car" being offered worldwide in any quantity.

Unfortunately, range is subject to so many factors outside of the manufacturer's (and sometimes the driver's) control, it would be virtually impossible to justify a claim. "I've had the car eighteen months and I'm only getting 50 miles of range! I want warranty service... what? What's wrong with...
The only way that oil can get dirty is if there's a lot of premature wear going on, which means failure is imminent.
If it happens again, ask them to bring you a sample of the oil. The reduction gear oil is literally automatic transmission fluid and should be a clear red color and fairly low...
It most certainly does not. Take a look at the claims:
Poor range on the highway, 394 miles. Average range in the city, 330 miles - 394 highway miles on the Soul EV? Not on our life! The Soul EV is rated for 79.7 miles highway, 103.6 city. It makes perfect sense, however, that a gasoline or...
Is there any particular reason you're looking at a comparison of the LEAF to a gasoline powered Soul, rather than to the all-electric Soul EV?

Me neither, and that makes this tech more of a curiosity than anything practical, at least as far as what I'm looking for.
You would still need an AC coupling inverter and a (small) battery/generator to make this system work as an island. The coupling inverter performs the grid isolation and...
A very interesting thing to be sure - a neatly packaged "bolt-on" battery storage unit!
My only let-down is the capacity. 1.2kWh. Unless there is a mechanism to allow the Enphase equipment to operate in island mode when the grid is not available, I'd need quite a few of those to make it through...
The LEAF is a battery electric vehicle, because the energy to drive the wheels comes only from a storage battery.
The Prius is a parallel hybrid, where the energy to drive the wheels comes from more than one source (battery and gasoline) simultaneously for the majority of its normal operation...
