Agreed, especially if the 11% increase in range pans out.

The range improvement stuff is confusing. If you go to http://www.teslamotors.com/models/design" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and look carefully at the ranges for RWD vs. AWD, you'll see the figures change from EPA to at 65 mph.Berlino said:JeremyW said:I think the $4k cost to add dual motors to a "regular" S is actually pretty cheap!

So, for the single motor 60, 85 and P85 models, the EPA ranges are:
208, 265, 265 miles
For the D versions they are at 65 mph:
225, 295, 275
Thus, the EPA range test results for the D versions are not there... not sure if they're known.
The EPA test is NOT at a steady 65 mph, nor is it a a steady speed for very long. http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/how_tested.shtml" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; shows how and http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/fe_test_schedules.shtml" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; has graphs of all the test cycles.

Wait... Autopilot? Available later with Over The Air software update. Did they really talk about self-retrieving car that will pick you up based on your location? (I read it in one of the tweets from the live event: http://www.teslarati.com/tesla-oct-9-live-coverage-hashtag-elonsd/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false.
If that's the case it's far from a yawn.

Whoopee!! :roll:LeftieBiker said:"Tesla: now with a spare motor!"

Model X is pretty much SOLD OUT, why talk about it.

A good way to scam the market is by taking deposits on the next model to generate working capital
which falling sales on an existing model fails to produce.
It's really not worth your time.BestPal said:Yeah man... what a bunch of little scamers those Tesla guys are, aren't they? Investing into R&D and doing something that no one has ever done and achieving results that no one could dream of in gasoline cars and targeting a certain market with phenomenal product at a fraction of the cost of competition. What a bunch of bozos they must be, eh? Geezzzz
