Today I spoke with Carlos Bosch, the Internet Sales and Leaf Specialist for Raceway Nissan near Riverside.

He confirmed that Raceway is slated to receive a Quick Charger as part of the Nissan initiative, but he could not report any actual progress. He understands that there are negotiations going on between Nissan, the electric utilities, grant agencies, etc. This sounds to me like more months of delay. Hopefully I will be proved wrong.

Riverside is an excellent location for a QC

Are Nissan dealers on the way to San Diego getting them? Irvine? Mission Viejo?

None in San Diego are expected to get the chargers.

    Right---we have too many leafs down here. Installing QC's here would probably result in them actually getting used.

Why do I feel that, once again, they will manage to snatch failure from the jaws of victory...

Are there any dealers anywhere in USA that have installed a QC since this announcement was made ?

North Bay Nissan in Petaluma has, but it was planned before the announcement and is unrelated to it.

Eastside Nissan in Bellevue, WA has one but it was there before the announcement was made.

Something tells me they don't have the locations picked out yet. Otherwise, where are they all going? Certainly aren't planned up this way either.

A dealership in Timonium, MD was pitched the idea of a QC install by a QC manufacturer for cost of $30k. The dealer did not sound like they were interested.
Ther are no QC's in MD at all that I know of - yet.

Connell in Costa Mesa is confirmed to be getting one as mentioned earlier. Tustin is rumored to be getting one also.

Has anyone heard an update on Connell's install? Last I talked with them they said "March".

Just stopped by Tustin today.. Sounds like they will get a DCQC but likely not until the end of the year as they are temporarily moving the dealership (May-November?) while they level and rebuild a new two story dealership at the current location. The DCQC will likely go in with the upgraded dealership..

Good news: It appears that Mission Hills Nissan will be getting one since they are considered to be in a strategic location at the junction of the 118, 5 and 405 freeways...

Bad news: They plan to only make it available when they are open due to liability issues...

Spoke with 2 dealers yesterday (same ownership since there is a monopoly on Nissan in the area) north of Boston (Woburn & Lynnfield) neither location will be getting a DCQC. The odd thing is that the salesman was pitching the Chademo port as a positive thing to have. I pointed out that there is nowhere to use it in the Northeast. He seemed confused and then pitched the LED lights. I LOVE dealers!!!!!

So far no dealer that I have spoken to in the Boston area is installing DCQCs. Ugh.

Yeah, we're notably behind the curve here in the Northeast. I keep pushing NYS to install DCQC along the thruway (I-87 and I-90), but I get the same response: "The idea has been pitched to our fuel concessionaires. We have no plans to install charging infrastructure."

When I got my Leaf, my local salesman was telling potential customers that they have a "quick charger" already, so you should buy the CHAdeMO upgrade. And by quick charger, he meant the L2 AV EVSE that every Leaf dealer has. Although that was a year ago, and I was quick to correct him on his mistake. You have to take these dealers with a grain of salt since it can be a steep learning curve to sell a product that one had never used.

An Auburn, MA salesman told me I could use the 440v DC port at home because it was the same voltage my stove and dryer ran on.

The Leaf is not the only thing some salesmen are ignorant of.

With reps like that, who needs Broders?

Why is Nissan so bad at marketing? If Tesla can roll out QC here, they surely can.

Our first Blink DCQC just came in. When these are in the ground and running they will be outside the dealer and public use only.

Matt Moreno They will be outside and ungated. It's a terrible parking lot though and getting in and out during business hours will be difficult. Barbara Joyce The ultimate goal from what I hear is 2 DCQC outside the dealer. These will be Blinks units and have no ties to us other than the land.

here is hoping that this is SOP for all the chargers Nissan is putting in. (Eastside also has a DCFC of their own but that one is customer use only or by permission although I am not aware of anyone being turned away...)

:D For anyone in Southeast interested I found a new Nissan dealer in Ocala Florida with the dc station. This is great pit stop for anyone headed to Orlando from the North.
