Did a quick search but did not find a post. Does anyone know a way to update the navigation in my Leaf? Can I use a current map download from Nissan for a newer car?

Definitely not (unless you want to "brick" your NAV).
Unfortunately, Nissan stopped offering map updates for the Gen1 Leaf after 2018. I have one, but I'm not sure if it's still offered. Check the Nissan website; the SD cards have to be "coded" to your vehicle, so you have to provide some info (and ~$200) to get one. I still use the NAV in my Leaf, and I'm glad I did the upgrade (I live in a newer area that still doesn't have all the streets in the database).
