Now...if George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln (or other past statesmen who played a significant part in building this great country) met Bill Mahr, what do you suppose they would say?

IMHO, they'd probably laugh like hell and then have him put in a looney house.
Why do you think that?

Ok - I watched the Republican convention. The good news? While they don't choose to employ any, the campaign is increasing the market for private fact checkers.

The best news? The Daily Show has a quick recap:

Going to have to tape every comedy show this eve so I don't miss any of the feeding frenzy. It's a good year for comedians!

When we are in a recession because of demand slump, you have raise demand.

Exactly!

Perhaps the best way is massive and sustained INFRASTRUCTURE spending, at least 4 years.
Worked in 1930's, started to improve the economy.

Also helps to HIRE more "cops" to go after Medicare and welfare abusers (which are often cut instead)

However when the economy turns up then gov has to scale back and pay off the debt.

Partially.
Still need to look at bottom line, but one does have more flexibility to handle a crisis.
