So, how many amps will you need and what receptacle?

The 40 amp J1772 is reserved from 3pm-7:30pm.

There are two additional 50 amp outlets, one currently 6-50 and one 14-50, although I might add yet another 14-50.
We are going to have 2 Brusa powered Leafs there that will be thirsty!! :D

I have both 6-50 and 14-50's on my EVSE if I need to bring it? Just 7.2kw. Isn't that what your Clipper puts out? Or will you need another EVSE down there for all the vehicles?

I have 8 Tesla UMC's with J1772, each capable of up to 40 amps. I think we're OK there.

There is an offer for the use of the EVSE at a house in Rancho Bernardo for those coming from out of town for this event.

The house is located 0.5 mile off the Rancho Bernardo Road exit on I-15. He would be happy to shuttle people between my house and his while your vehicles is charging.

I'll reserve one of the 50A outlets and converted UMC's. I'll have my EVSE upgrade but of course it's only good for 16A. Thanks Tony! :)

Planning to attend after the Santa Ana Leaf meeting. Will need to charge for the 130 mile return trip!

Will bring an EVSE upgrade, 30A Open EVSE, Quick 240, extension cords as well as TT30, 6-20, 6-50, 10-30, and 14-50 adapters. Let's see what did I forget... Are you supplying dry ice to cool the batteries?

16 amps? Be sure and hit the DC charger in Poway for a quick jolt before coming over to top off at my house.

Damn, this sounds like the best local event ever, Tony! Wish we could make it, but once again we are over-scheduled with 3 other conflicting events that day. I'm bummed, but hope y'all have a great time! Sounds like you will...

TT

Not sure I'm going to be needing that much time to charge Tony, as Jason and I got the Brusa working on my leaf today!

I'm on nights the day before and after (get home at 5:30 am), so I will be leaving my house no earlier then noon to get some z's.

Sounds like a great gathering. I will try to attend.
Incidentally, I'm sending a friend who is serious about getting an EV.
I thought I had sold him a Tesla after he drove mine, but for the $. The LEAF doesn't quite have the range he wants.
He's pretty impressed with the Rav4EV. Of course he was a bit distressed when the dealer mentioned add $2k for "charger" that must be professionally installed.
Anyway, I sent him the link to your event and suggested he stop by and get all his Rav4EV and EVSE questions answered by the SoCal experts.

Of course, the dealer $2k "charger" is just a profit maker that they will take if the buyer gives it to them!!! I suspect most do not get the dealer (Leviton) EVSE... I have a Clipper Creek CS-50.

We should have just about every kind of EV you can think of at this BBQ. Oh, if he has an oil burner car, please park on Sabre Hill Drive and walk in. Thanks.

If you are arriving in an oil burner vehicle, please park it on Sabre Hill Drive and walk in to the neighborhood. Thanks.

Hamburgers, hotdogs, plus:

- brownies, chocolate chip bars, spinach dip, artichoke dip, crab ball, macaroni salad and baked beans, lemon cupcakes, sweet meatballs, deviled eggs, and marmalade covered Brie! No one should leave hungry.

Thanks for hosting the BBQ today! It was very fun and learned many new things. Looking forward to the next meet! :D

Thanks again Tony for the great party and hosting the event!!

I think we were the furthest ones to drive (maybe 2nd to Alan).. but coming home.. this is how hard I pushed it.. had to get off the freeway and drive streets the remaining 4 miles.. ALMOST TURTLE.. but still no LBW???

Look at my GIDS!! 2.9v cell

You're welcome. That's a solid day for a Nissan LEAF with no quick charge capability!

Thanks for hosting the event and providing grub, Tony! Had a good time. Traveled about 266 miles round trip with stops at Stadium Nissan for about an hour of L2 during Lunch with GregH (gained 5 bars with the Brusa running full out), Dana Point for a quick ‘Robomo’ charge, Oceanside Nissan for a partial QC, and then a charge at Tony’s from just above LBW to full in about 3 hours. On the way back stopped at San Juan Capistrano and Diamond Bar. Made it back home with 80 gids/4 bars remaining and a pack sitting at 42c! Ouch!

I really really like the faster L2 charging speed! Now just got to figure out how to get CHAdeMO on Tony's Rav4 ev...
