Adapters:
Tesla will design and manufacture NACS -> CCS adapters for legacy GM and Ford EVs. 'Expected in 2024'. I have my doubts that other CCS cars will be excluded, but I suppose it is possible for non-technical reasons. I'll guess more likely that the payment process will be less elegant and prone to the same handshaking time-outs as the present CCS system.

Evercharge is (I think) a DC charger distributor, though I have never heard of them. They are NACS gung-ho

As an aside, it sure would be a nice side effect if the consolidation around NACS was to lead to significant decreases in DC fast charger prices.
 
I've never seen their DC FCs before but I used their L2 EVSEs in Torrance at https://www.plugshare.com/location/331536 in Dec 2021. I added the night time label pic. I wouldn't say they're a household name either as I've not seen their equipment elsewhere. I'd taken a road trip down to So Cal.

This is the first and only time I've seen a Volta setup where they had 1 or 2 large signs for ads and then the EVSEs were just smaller units in a row w/o a large enclosure.

This is sorta divergent but I think this is pretty big news. Was quite a shocker to me when someone at work posted it this morning.

So I've been reading up on the NACS standard and is this just for QC? I mean I sure hope they don't do away with the J1772 standard I have on all my EVSEs! If they do ditch J1772 what's going to happen to all the J1772 EVSEs in both residential and commercial locations? I personally could care less about the QC connector as I never use it and for that I'm glad they are planning on standardizing and not having 3 QC standards but please don't tell me this will mean an end to J1772......
 
Who knows if J1772 will end?

That said, "NACS" is a single small connector that supports L1 and L2 AC charging + DC fast charging.

All US-Tesla Model S and newer come with https://shop.tesla.com/product/sae-j1772-charging-adapter so that they can use J1772. They could use CHAdeMO with the discontinued https://web.archive.org/web/20210309023825/https://shop.tesla.com/product/chademo-adapter. Current Teslas (and newer ones, long story) that have CCS hardware can also use CCS1 via https://shop.tesla.com/product/ccs-combo-1-adapter.

They can be AC charged via J1772, https://www.tesla.com/support/home-charging-installation/wall-connector or https://www.tesla.com/support/home-charging-installation/mobile-connector. They can be DC FCed via https://www.tesla.com/supercharger besides the above.

I do wonder if PHEVs will continue to ship with J1772 instead of NACS, or will there end up being AC-only NACS vehicles (can't be DC FCed)...
 
So you are saying newer Teslas still come with the J1772 adapter? I guess I thought the adapter was dropped with newer model S's and all other Teslas to save costs but maybe that was just the CHAdeMO adapter that was now optional....
I guess if all new cars with NACS come with a J1772 adapter that would be acceptable to me and I suppose at some point as all the J1772 EVSEs die and become replaced they will be replaced with NACS EVSEs and at that point mfgs. will drop the free adapter or make it an optional item for those with legacy working J1772 EVSEs.
Not that I was planning on purchasing any more J1772 EVSEs but this news will defiantly curtail any new J1772 equipment for me, even if a great deal, I can see the writing on the wall and it's not good for J1772 :(

In North America Chamedo is dying, hopefully someone in the future will come up with a solution to replace the Chamedo port with NACS.
