What does LeafSpy actually report? Does it estimate the full capacity as LeadDD does with "C" or does it just tell you what the capacity is at "100%" charge, which is never really 100%. For example, my LeadDD reports C=45.19 and around 42.5 Ahr at "full" charge. Which number am I looking at to figure out how close I am to losing bar number 9? I understand it happens around 42 Ahr or so, but which stat is it?

The AHr number. You should be close, REAL close.

Dang. A few months later and my max Ahr after a full charge is around 41.5 or so and my C has dipped just below 44 (as reported by Leaf DD) . I'm STILL at 9 capacity bars. I'll reach 55000 miles this week so I've still got a bit to go, and have 10 months until the 5 years runs out. I have another car I can drive IF I need to let this thing sit around just to hit that 8th bar, but I'd really rather just get the new battery already :( Someone please tell me I'm really REAL close for real :)

You're REAL close for real :) However if it is cold in the winter where you live chances are you won't drop the 9th bar until Spring.

I don't know anything about LeafDD, but if you're looking at a number that varies along with your SOC (i.e. it goes down as you drive) then you're looking at the wrong thing. If that "C" number is the right number, then I'm afraid you've got a long way to go.

EDIT: According to this, then C is indeed the number you need to pay attention to - you need that to get down to ~42. This probably isn't going to happen until you get some hot temps - 10 months should be enough, but with only 5k miles to go you'll probably want to start limiting how much you drive.

^^^ Looks like I got confused with terminology, if C is the same value that LeafSpy reports as AHr then yes 44 is not real close, apparently LeafDD's AHr is a calculated value of C * SOC which is a way to represent energy stored in the pack at any given time, this is different from AHr in LeafSpy which corresponds to the pack capacity that doesn't track with SOC (same as C in LeafDD).

I use LeafDD and I didn't drop my 4th CB until that C = 42.39. Unfortunately, you've got a ways to go :(

I am joining the 4 Loss Bar Club. Went to 4 bars in Sept. waited until now to call in for battery diagnostic check which is scheduled for 11-12-15. I wanted the replacement to be installed in cooler weather. The Nissan rep informed me that I qualify for the Lizard Battery but the dealer needs to check it out first. Below are the numbers from LeafSpy Pro on my 2013 Leaf (02/13). Mileage is now at 31110. Hope things go as smooth as others. I live in Bermuda Dunes, CA. Near Palm Springs, same climate as Phoenix. I didn't take it in for the annual battery tests. I didn't know about it until I started reading this thread. I hope they still honor the warranty. Any thoughts?

After full charge:

SOC=91.7
SOH=60%
GID's=160 (56.9%)
Ah=36.24
kWh=12.4
Hx=53.76%
394.93v
75.7 degrees F

The service dept. confirmed that I had lost 4 bars and ordered a new battery for my 2013 Leaf. Gave me a ETA of 3 to 6 weeks. They told me they had 4 other batteries on order before mine, now it's 5. Seems to be a lot going out at once.

The Dealer called that my replacement battery came in. It took 4 weeks to arrive. Dropped my 2013 Leaf at the dealer yesterday and waiting for the call that it's finished.

Wow, yours has to be the first, or nearly the first 2013 to qualify for a new battery! Congratulations.

Considering his local climate it's not all that surprising: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bermuda_Dunes,_California

Maybe but it's yet another nail in the coffin of the supposed "improved 2013 pack".

Lurker here. Just dropped my 8th bar this morning! Leafspy data FWIW:

42.34 Ahr
SOH 64%
Hx 43.34
Odometer 57,380

I assume that's a 2011 Leaf? Waiting to get a free battery closer to 60,000 miles?

My 2013 (02/13) Leaf was before the improved battery that came out in spring of 2013. That is why this battery went downhill fast. I'm hoping that this lizard battery holds up better. I have yet to have any loss of battery capacity with my 2013 Volt, but the Volt has active cooling and can't charge more than 80% of maximum.

Expect the same degradation out of the lizard.

Picked up my 2013 Leaf yesterday. New battery pack installed Part# 295B0-3NF9D. Back to 12 bars and looking good. The battery took 4 weeks to arrive at the dealer and took 2 1/2 days to install as the Leaf specialist was busy with other jobs. They gave me a loner car and the whole process was smooth. Now let's see how long this battery lasts. I will only do 80% charging and try to stay away from QC unless necessary. Thanks for everyone's input on the forum.

I'm supposed to get my Leaf back Wednesday with a new battery pack; it's been about a month.
I will report back with stats after a couple of (full) charges. I will also make it a point to get a parts list as they did something to the A/C as well.

My pack came in yesterday and I'm trying to schedule for next week. Or maybe even this week if the EV tech is gone between Christmas and the New Year.

So that was 6 weeks and change from the order going in to delivery.

Yes, 2011 Leaf. No, not waiting - got approved for new battery the day after it dropped. They said the new battery might take a month to arrive...

Just drove my Leaf home from the dealer with the new battery pack (and a new window motor and a new A/C condenser).
I will post some LeafDD data after I get a couple of full charges this weekend, but the tech who worked on my car came out to tell me I should see "a bit more capacity" (as in AHrs) with this battery pack; I assume he's referring to the fact most are seeing >290 GIDs at full charge (instead of the old 281). He also said I got all new battery covers (or whatever they're called) underneath the car because the 2011 ones don't fit the 2013 style battery pack. Oh, and it's nice to have regen back!
At any rate, here are the part numbers associated with the battery replacement:
--Battery assembly: 295B0-3NF9E
--Bracket assembly: 740D0-3NF1A

I wonder if your 'E' pack differs from the 'D' pack Scubamal got because yours is a 2011 instead of his 2013 and they're arranged a bit differently, or if there's some other difference. Has anyone else noticed the same 'D' vs. 'E' pack replacement based on MY?
