2019 SV+ quarterly bms update done. -.65% 14,500 miles on the car.

92.26 to 91.61% was hoping this would be up, but no such luck.

We should be corelating the change with miles driven. Twice (in two different cars) my stats improved with more miles driven. Its as if the BMS allows more access to the pack when it detects the user needs it?

Interesting theory anyway. I have very few miles on my 2018 40 pack, and one of the lowest SOH that I've seen posted on here. Is that related as you say? Or is it because i live in a really hot climate? Who knows. Not me! As of my last check I was at 87.53%.

Dave, Lear you might be right. Maybe it is inversely proportional to miles driven. Let me look at that on my xls.

Learjet, our 2019s are almost identical. 91.X% and 13-14K miles driven.

Here is a curiosity. I drove 174 miles today, and and the car reported I used 39.5kWh. I started at 51.8 and ended at 14.1...51.8 - 14.1 = 37.7 kWh. How did I gain 1.8kWh while driving? Regen is in the counter.

Any ideas?

For "really hot" reference, look at Turbo's stats. Are you as hot as Phoenix? He is an above average miler.

Almost as hot as Phoenix on average, some days hotter, some cooler. Yesterday we were 109. Our hottest this year was 119f on July 18th. I'm a below average miler, so that would be interesting to compare. Is his a 40 or a 62 though? Should we compare SOH on the 40 to the 62? I'm headed over to the 40 to post my latest stats since I have not in some time.

Posting my info for an early 2020 build (01/20) bought at the end of November 2020. Resides in TX and driven way above average for miles.

Like many of us, he traded up from the 40 to the 62. Both fared or is faring well considering the mercurial challenges he faces. It is appearing that the Gen 2 pack's biggest challenges are light users and time. Already 4 over 100,000 miles with 12 bars (all 40's) including one at 144,000 and 86% SOH. Will I do as well? Not even close. He got that 144,000 miles in 3 years and 4 months. It will take me at least 8-9 years IF I keep the car that long.

Nissan has 3K off of 2022 Leafs..so that outs a new S+ at about 23K without any negotiating (post fed rebate before tax). Tempting to move up to a 22 from a 19 for a 3 year newer battery.

And I would really like a blue Leaf vs. silver.

That in a nutshell is what makes a new LEAF expensive

But regarding the price, I thought MSRP is 27.4k ? Presuming of course that the dealer does not tack on more.

used Leaf S+ on cars.com range from $23K to $27K..... hard to imagine who would pay that but if it is true then our S+'s are worth what we paid for them (after tax incentive...)

What sort of trade-in do you think the 2019 will get? this is always a wild card in thinking this through....

Might be better to sell to Carvana or such. I was offered $23,800 for mine (buyout just over $19k) but not seeing a compelling reason to upgrade and with s trims, no comfort package anymore. Not willing to give up my heated steering wheel yet.

Yeah, my problem is that my S+ was in am accident, which has walked a few K from my carvana offer.

It's also just a lot of work to sell and buy a car, and not sure my wife is that keen to go through it,.even if not that costly in the end.

oh, I 'vaguely' remember a mention about an accident but had the impression it was very minor?

He talking plus price. With the modest price jump, I wouldn't look at a 40 either.

$5k difference in MSRP between the S and S+

The S+ MSRP is $32,400.
Less $7,500 is $24,900.
I'll believe $3k less when someone can point to a dealer offer.

Yep, $5k for more than 50% jump in range. Hard to ignore that. There will still be the base incentives only smaller. Still get the $1,000 loyalty offer for returning customers. I notice that Costco Auto dropped the LEAF? Guessing there wasn't enough margin in it anymore?

$5,000 for ~ 20 kWh so $250 a kWh

Figure 25% battery degradation more than a thermally controlled pack
So 250/0.75 = $333 a kWh

Meh. Not terrible, but nothing to crow about. About what I paid in 2018 for extra range from Tesla
I looked now: The Model 3 LR is 82 kWh, and costs $10k more but is bundled with AWD which I call a $2k value
The SR+ is 55 kWh
So I figure $8,000 for 27 kWh = $300 a kWh
Or to put in different terms, same cost per kWh if Nissan pack degrades 17% more than Tesla pack over Nissan pack life.
