Yes, indeed, it seems that tb's trip is proceeding well.
I also enjoy "riding along". Thanks.

Hopefully we will see you and "Siggred" this coming
Saturday in Cerritos. With all the excitement and
new details, I hope that you are getting some good,
peaceful sleep.

Keep a notepad and pen handy, day and night.
Best wishes, Gary and Nancy

I and my new red EV arrived safely home Tuesday afternoon. Everything was going great on my trip home, with a pleasant stop for lunch, EV discussions, and birding in Morro Bay and a Supercharge at Buellton, until about 9 pm Monday evening, when I prepared to plug into the Clippercreek J1772 at my motel in Santa Barbara after a nice dinner. At this point, with not enough charge to reach home, I discovered to my horror that the J1772 adapter was not in my gadget bag, making all J1772 chargers useless to me.

After a stressful night, I chose to drive 40 miles back to Buellton, fill up, and drive all the way home. I had intentionally not filled up at Buellton the first time.

After a few phone calls, nice folks at Morro Bay found my J1772 adapter still attached to their J1772 plug, and today I mailed them a box, packing material, and return postage to mail the adapter back to me.

Today, after a very restful night, I feel fine. Both cars now fit in my garage with multiple inches to spare on all sides. I am very grateful to be able to participate in furthering the EV evolution with this new car. I expect to bring it to the meeting this Saturday. I have started a separate thread on comparing technical details of both cars.

This coming Saturday, an L&T (LEAF & Tesla) Gathering
at a Hometown Buffet near you, Dori. :D
Yes, very near you if you live in Cerritos (hint, hint).

Hopefully we will see a shiny new Red all-EV,
with a macho battery pack... enough to actually
go somewhere. (battery envy) :p

Saturday morning, HTB now opens at 8:00 instead
of 7:30, I believe. Just North of South Street, just
2 blocks East of 605, and one exit South of 91.

See you there, I hope.

Only 26 hours and 48 minutes until 8:00 at Hometown Buffet
in Cerritos for our next LEAF & Tesla Gathering.

I will bring my latest Due toys.
I am planning on being there, Gary

Thirteen slightly too-cool bodies (Hometown had the
air conditioning system working, it seemed), and a
very shiny new red Tesla in the parking lot.

A very nice Gathering, with lots of discussions,
and both the chill of the weather, and the
warmth of the holiday season were to be felt.

Merry Christmas to all, with warmth and hopes
for health and good times to all.

Yes, there is one more Gathering before Christmas,
in Santa Ana on December 21st. If you can, bring some
kind of baby-gift for Rosie's new baby. A boy, I think.
Cheers, Gary

Join us for our last Gathering of the year, at the
Hometown Buffet on 17th street in Santa Ana,
just 2 blocks East of I5. It now opens at 8 AM
for breakfast on Saturday morning.

This is our pre-Christmas Gathering, and one
member takes delivery of a new Tesla S the
very next day.

Actually, we could have a New-Years Gathering
at somebody's home, if anybody wanted to
do that. Perhaps a potluck and watch the Ball
Drop in New York City at 9 PM our time.

Just a thought for those who do not have
other plans or family obligations. I am
interested, are there any others?

A thread about JasonA new Solar Power system,
around 10 kW DC, and a plethora of micro-inverters.

Jason, thanks for sharing this with us. :D
Cheers, Gary

Next Gathering, one week from today.
Saturday, 21 December, our last Gathering in 2013.
All are invited, but please do not worry if you
cannot make it... many have real lives, or at least
related persons or creatures.

Robert should be arriving with me.
Cheers, and a very Merry Christmas (or equivalent) to all...
Sincerely, Gary, Nancy, Boris, and Heidi. :D :D :D

Next Gathering is this coming Saturday at the
Hometown Buffet on 17th street in Santa Ana,
just 2 blocks East of I5. Breakfast at 8 AM.

With luck, and a delivery by UPS on Friday, I will
be able to bring my virgin Quadcopter to show
anyone interested. :D

I expect that it will be smaller
than I imagined it
to be.

Remember, if you happen to have something
for Rosi's new little baby boy, please feel free
to bring it along. She will be thrilled.

Cheers, and Merry Christmas to all,
Gary, Boris, Heidi, and Nancy :D

Thanks for the reminder Gary, I had planned to do so, but had forgotten......but at least I knew it was Santa Ana this week :p Hmmm, maybe I'll bring my Leafy RC too and spin that around the parking lot a bit. See you and Robert and other Leaf, Tesla, et al friends for the last 2013 meet up! And Happy New Year and Happy Holidays to those I won't be able to see this time! Love, Dori

Our last Gathering of 2013 is tomorrow morning, 1 day, 2 hours, 29 minutes from now.
With even moderate luck, I expect to be there, with a little something for "our" baby boy.

Thank you all for your kindness, caring, support, encouragement, and love.
There are many times that I feel like I would not have made it this far without you.

Peace, Love, and Health to you all, Gary

Re: copter:
Just when I was beginning to think the Tesla forum was not nearly as geeky, in a good way, as the best on the Leaf forum, I see this video of a Supercharger installation in progress in Farmingham NM, posted by Cottonwood, which I found quite amusing:

Gatherings for January 2014:
They could be the 4th and 18th, but Martin Luther King day on
Monday the 20th might create a 3-day weekend for some.

So, the 11th an 25th might be better, since we would probably
not meet on the 1st of February, but the 8th (somebody's birthday)
and the 22nd.

Preferences and suggestions, please.

Since most folks have been too busy with real lives to
comment on the January 2014 dates, and the 4th is
only 6 days away, I will make the choice.

January 11 and 25th.

As we have more of our group make the evolution
from the comparatively limited-range LEAF to
the more exotic Tesla, we continue to welcome
them to our Gatherings. After all, they are family,
and we cannot shun them just because they
married outside the religion, party, race, brand,
or sports team. True, they might have a more
difficult time parking their larger vehicles near
a Hometown Buffet, but they no longer have the
"not enough charge" excuse for not showing up.

The Tesla battery has about 70 times the number
of battery cells as we peasants have in the LEAF,
approximately 7000 to 100. Perhaps a great example
of what one can build out of toy replacement parts.
However, from my limited experience, a rather nice
collection of features to distract you from the
payment schedule. Welcome brothers, and your
brothers as well.

Happy New Year to all, Gary
