Any competent auto body shop can fix the LEAF.
Repairing the Leaf requires the $10 kilobuck Consult III+ scantool. Most body shops will not have it, and will avoid the job.

I must have got lucky with my repair. The only item the dealer had to do was reset the airbag warning light. The body shop powered the car prior to reconnecting all the airbags. They also reset a low voltage codes, the shop disconnected the 12v battery without waiting 5 mins after powering down the vehicle.

another Leaf at Copart....

I hope everyone was ok. Looks like a Mack truck hit them from behind and pushed them into something.

Did Tony or Ingineer get anything from the oregon car?

That car is brand new!!!

Odometer: 946  ACTUAL
Primary Damage: REAR END
Secondary Damage:
VIN: JN1AZ0CP9CT017078

I started bidding, and Phil realized that I was jacking up his price, so he stuck voodoo needles in my doll, and I stopped bidding. The actual sales price was WELL above our respective price points.

EDIT: If you placed a bid, they took some of your money. They will not refund that money unless you asked (great scam).

Must've been driving with ECO on and slowed down too much without brake lights going on...
(just kidding...I don't think the ECO slow-down effect is significant enough that a driver who is following safely behind will not be able to slow down/stop in time. I know there are those who think otherwise).

Or grabby brakes...

The first Leaf in Oregon ($14k) was bought by Steve Woodruff at Autobeyours.com. He intends to fix it and put it back on the road.

The second one went for over $17k to an unknown (as yet) bidder.

This white one is in CT, which is a long haul! Sad it is so new! I guess those east coasters' can't pick on our west coast driving anymore!

Good thing there was no gas tank back there! I too hope everyone was okay. That is some major rear end damage.

Welcome to the forum and good luck with the repair! For those not family with Steve, he is well known on PriusChat for repairing salvaged Prii and assisting owners with repairs.

Agreed. Even in Eco the Leaf doesn't decelerate any harder than the compression braking on my ICEs...
