Why are most LEAF owners so unpleasant???-

I now feel remarkably lucky to have ended up with my dealership, who a) have been nothing but friendly and helpful during both my purchase and first year of LEAF ownership, and b) participate on these forums.

    Leaves in the Wild

I actually have to dress in many layers for riding in winter anyway -- no heat in the barn -- so I don't tend to run the heater so much on the trip. ;) Powering up Union Hill isn't great, though.

    Leaves in the Wild

Seriously! Every weekend when I drive from my house (in North Seattle) to the stable where my horse is (off on the eastern edge of Redmond, where you could practically jump a fence and be in Carnation), I swear I see at least one and often two other LEAFs. And it's reached the point that...

ICEless in Seattle : Official Pacific NorthWest thread

I'm sad, I haven't even seen the LEAF owner invite! Clearly, Nissan no longer loves me. :'( (Or possibly the Great Internet Antispam Beast hungered for my e-mails, and they are being digested somewhere.)

    Blink Installation

Mine isn't. They built a waterproof connection box and put the plug inside that.

If I left you a nasty note today...

I have to ask... why on earth are we spending time trying to castigate Volt owners, who have already jumped on board the EV train even if they have a gas engine to increase the range? Folks probably have their reasons for wanting one. Maybe once a month they have to drive 130 miles to visit...

Funny Story about running out of gas

I actually did this about a month and a half ago... but in fairness, it was my housemate needing the rescuing. :)

If I left you a nasty note today...

That's how the signs up here in Seattle read at every L2 station I've been to. "Electric Vehicle Parking While Charging Only" or similar phrasing.

If I left you a nasty note today...

I'm with Adric on this. About a week and a half ago, I went to Fred Meyer and just before I was about to pull into the one remaining EV charger, a Volt pulled in. I pulled into a nearby space, and when the Volt's driver got out and realized I was the black LEAF's driver, he asked if I needed...

From my own experience, I recommend Campbell-Nelson up in Edmonds. Ray and Dino are awesome (and also participate on this board and the Facebook group).

What gm-volt guys think of MNL ...

Me as well. My longest regular commute comes out to about 60 miles round trip. I can do that on the LEAF no problem; with a Volt, I'd either need gas or to stop for a charge partway through. If I still drove up to Vancouver or down to Portland on a regular basis, however, I'd probably have...

ICEless in Seattle : Official Pacific NorthWest thread

I had McKinstry do my actual install, and they handled it without surprises. I've got a Prime guy here right now working on the EVSE because the Blink is on the blink, but...

What argument do ICE driver parked in EV spot give you?

Additionally, the majority of power will always be near the building; there may be power lines run out for parking light lights, but it will likely always be easier to install the EVSEs nearer to the building rather than on the opposite side of the lot.

    Looky Loos questions

There's a concept of plurals, but they don't modify the noun itself. In Japanese, nearly every non-proper noun is implicitly a mass noun -- i.e., a noun that has no separate plural form on its own, like 'moose' in English -- but it still gets modified into what might as well conceptually be a...

    Leaves in the Wild

I actually see so many LEAFs now that it's a rare drive when I don't see one; I've stopped noting the sightings on Facebook or here as a result. :)

Is there an issue with the Blink Chargers?

Yeah, I've never had a failure to charge yet, but recently the blink couldn't see the network anymore. I managed to get it up and running again myself, but when I asked the blink guys about pppd segfaulting in my blink's system logs, they discovered that -- although it sends charge state...

    Looky Loos questions

Right now I don't get a lot of notice while out on the road (except for the nod/wave from other LEAF drivers), or in the average parking lot. If I go to the grocery store and plug into the blink there, however, I invariably come out of the store to find people clustered around and looking at...
