Looking for Solar purchase in San Diego

I installed an 11KW system consisting of 44 Canadian Solar panels and a 7K SMA and 4KTL SMA inverter for $2.50/W in AZ BEFORE the 30% federal tax credit. My cost in AZ is probably different than the cost in San Diego so it's apples to oranges comparison.

Notably lacking in article is whether there's TMS on it or not?

Nissan Leaf EVSE upgrade - Reviews? Reliable?

Right, the upgrade page says that it's only for North American LEAF EVSE (I guess that means Canada included?). They only say the new one (with $649 special) may have 25A option for international orders. I have no idea why the difference either. I would love to know that, too.

Nissan Leaf EVSE upgrade - Reviews? Reliable?

No, you didn't get an exception. The international units can support up to 25A depending on the local area. But the USA unit is limited to 20A only.

    Phoenix metro-area

Since around 5/21/2014. It's not Alternate Fuel Vehicle plate. It's the Blue Energy Efficient plate. Looks very similar with the cloud stuff, but actually a different type. This is the type for plug-ins. Here's the link about it. They had 1800 available when they started out. Cost $11.30...

Update on Nissan LEAF Battery Replacement

I think all this elated commotion over the released price of the battery is masking the real issue at heart here. The real issue at heart is the longevity of the Nissan battery pack. Even with this new price announcement, nobody is going to rush out and buy a new pack right away. Most people...

Update on Nissan LEAF Battery Replacement

This is not a problem in AZ at all. Registration cost for the LEAF is insanely low. I remember it cost me about $25 to register my brand new 2011 LEAF. Then the following year, it cost me about $50 to renew my LEAF registration for the next 5 years.

Update on Nissan LEAF Battery Replacement

Now that Nissan is saying the 2015 will have the Lizard battery, nobody is going to want to buy a brand new 2014 anymore.

Update on Nissan LEAF Battery Replacement

Like TomT and some others said, I have reservation about the effectiveness of improvement made to the Lizard battery pitted against hot weather areas like Phoenix. In light of the last time Nissan led everyone to believe that their original battery should be fine in hot weather areas and...

    Cheap L2 EVSE by converting the 2013-14 Nissan L1 EVSE - $25

If you don't go anywhere after getting home from work and haven't exhausted your traction battery yet because you also get to charge at work then sure, you wouldn't need the high power EVSE. But for folks who don't get to charge at work and come home with an exhausted battery but need to run...

Need Opinions - Use SolarCity to Install for Free or........

If you lease from Solar City, be aware that if you need to sell the house, you may have a hard time finding somebody to agree to take over your lease monthly payment, unless it's a prepaid lease. The 30% Federal tax credit ends in 2016, 2 years away. There's no telling if they're going to...

    Elio Motors 3 wheel autocycle

I just saw one in person at the Chandler Mall in Chandler, AZ last Sunday. Got to sit inside of it and everything. But it's still just a prototype, not an actual production car. Slated to roll out summer of 2015.

EVSEUpgrade high power OR ClipperCreek HCS-40 30a

The EVSEupgrade high power will only go up to 20A max while the ClipperCreek goes up to 30A. If you have a 2013 or later LEAF that has the 6KW charger, the CC will charge faster. But the EVSEupgrade high power is current adjustable and works with either 120V or 240V, so it's more versatile...

Do It Yourself: 240v from two 120v sources

What I wonder is if somebody sells such a device that doesn't use the relays, then whether that's still considered patent infringement or not. I'm not advocating that somebody should sell such a dangerous non-relay device, of course. I'm just musing the technicality of whether it's considered...

Do It Yourself: 240v from two 120v sources

It depends. The Quick220 comes with an outlet tester, too, but simply to verify whether the outlet has GFCI built in or not, that's all. But whether you test it for GFCI or not, if it's a GFIC outlet, it's going to be tripped either way, either via the outlet tester or by the Quick220. But if...

KICK GAS movie featuring Nissan Leaf at www.KickGas.tv!!!

I own 2 A2B bikes so it's refreshing to see some A2B riders in the mix. I'm curious how the A2B rider(s) kept up with the rest of the group going at top speed of 20 mph only? Also, the A2B battery range is also only up to 20 miles per battery. So how did it keep up with the charging? Unless...

Ex Leaf-owner club (Why we gave up on Nissan Leaf)

I sold my 2011 LEAF back to Nissan February 2013 and bought a Volt. Why did I sell the LEAF back to Nissan? I live in AZ. Enough said.

    Gen 1 GM Volt Plug-In Hybrid (2011-2015)

Here's an article where GM's Pam Fletcher explained why they went with the bigger engine in the first place. Below is the excerpt: "ABG: Why do your EREVs need four-cylinder power to extend their range when BMW's i3 makes do with an optional 650 cc two-banger? PF: I get that question all the...
