Why would you guarantee that? Personal opinion?

    Official Kia Soul EV thread

Tony, thank you for the careful range test and great writeup. The Soul is looking really strong, probably the best choice for me currently. And even better, my wife likes it too! One side benefit to replacing my 2011 Leaf with a Soul rather then a B-Class - no need or desire to upgrade my EVSE...

    Official Kia Soul EV thread

My wife suggested waiting for the Titanium Gray Souls to arrive (a medium metallic gray), then having the top wrapped in white or metallic silver film to personalize it. Sounds good to me :)

    Replaced Ecopia's with Michelin Defenders

Just for one data point, I replaced my 33000 mile, 3.5mm-tread Ecopias with a new set of the same tires from Costco, and found no observable change in efficiency.

Important Panasonic 120v charging adapter safety tip

OP here: the problem is with the plug on the Panasonic 120VAC EVSE (charging adapter) supplied in the cargo bag with 2011-2012 Leafs. The wiring screws in the plug seem to get loose over time, leading to overheating. The plug in this older EVSE can be disassembled and fixed with a #2 philips...

Important Panasonic 120v charging adapter safety tip

An important safety tip for those who use the older Leaf's Panasonic-supplied 120v charging cord frequently: you may need to tighten the wiring screws in the plug to prevent future overheating and possible damage. I noticed over time that the prongs on my 120v charging adapter plug felt warm to...

    Official Kia Soul EV thread

Could it be that Kia is planning to build far more EVs than Mercedes? It'll be an interesting comparison by the time both cars have stable production and pricing.

    All "Future" battery technology thread

I recall reading around 1970 (Popular Science) that a new sodium-sulfur battery was going to revolutionize things. That should be out pretty soon too! Someday, in dribs and drabs, we'll get our 2x density/cost improvement.

    Official Kia Soul EV thread

+1 watching my range tick down by the season, and hoping a viable alternative emerges in the time my current car remains useful.

New Google Maps won't send to car

Hate the new Google Maps. It's been Apple-ized into near uselessness. All beauty and no brains.

    Official Tesla Model S thread

re: Nissan polling Model S owners - Since it seems that the majority of EV owners are generally older, more affluent and well-educated, using the Nissan brand (youthful blue collar, moderate income, moderate education) to sell a barely-capable Leaf was one bad idea on top of another. At best...

    LEAF Advertising Having An Effect?

And at least in the San Francisco bay area, Nissan has finally started advertising that the Leaf is HOV-lane eligible. They neglected to sell this benefit for almost three years.
