phxsmiley said:I saw the story, but I'm wondering which 5 Leaf complaints are they investigating? Could it be they are the ones that actually filed the official complaints through their support phone #? That would be my guess, as that is probably their 'official' method of complaint.
phxsmiley said:I do recommend that those with Capacity Bar losses should take it into the Nissan dealer. I did, so it documents that I got all 5's on my scorecard, and the car was about 10 months old with the first bar gone.
LeafLady said:My Leaf has lost 1 bar...I believe it was due to me charging with a level 3 than later finishing it off when it only needed 3 bars...I woke up to see that I had only 11 bars so everyone becareful about topping it off cause you can lose yours too. Atric Leaf is what I named my car I bought it on August 31,2011 I have 12,734 miles when I lost my 1 bar....I will use caution when using the level 3 quick charge....my car is just over 10 monthes old...

Phoenix (2nd bar loss reported 6/14/2012 @~19K miles)Nissan Facebook said:Scott Yarosh: I live in Phoenix, I lost my First bar at the beginning of April, Second bar first week of June, and Third bar First week of July. I still love my Leaf, but it will not get me to work 1-way in the next few weeks (45 miles). 2 different dealerships have told me this is normal.
After reading the article, I wonder whether our list of lost capacity bars should include date problem was reported to Nissan (not the dealer) and case number. I don't believe the "we are investigating 5 cases" crap at all... unless they have 20 complaints, but decided to only investigate 5 of them. :twisted:opossum said:Here's the official article and video from KPHO:

Not reported by owner, but by others:
1. Leafkabob reported a street encounter with a Leaf owner who stated he lost a bar after about a year.
2. Skywagon approx. May, 2012. Phoenix (supposedly no longer has Leaf)
3. TomT's friend Tim (not on the forum), in Phoenix, lost 1st bar on 7/15/2012/13K miles, had car since August 2011.

PS I would say YES, DEFINITELY!
Yikes! Who was it that said most owners wouldn't notice if they didn't have the capacity gauge :roll:Scott Yarosh said:"When I first purchased the vehicle, I could drive to and from work on a single charge, approximately 90 miles round trip," Yarosh said.
And now, he says, "I can drive approximately 44 miles on this without having to stop and charge."
