what happens if the 12v accessory battery dies?

I was thinking the SAE-J1772 would supply 12V standby power. However, that's a square wave of high impedance, so not sufficient for trickle charging.
Really? Someone designed this in 2000 and didn't include aux power? Why is everything so broken !?

It's only job is to provide 240VAC to the vehicle. It is up to the vehicle to properly handle and distribute it as necessary. So, really, it is Nissan that is at fault...
