Cannot figure out what it means when the yellow or rd master warning lights come on steadily. Owners manual seems vage and nothing seems to be wrong.

It can mean many things from the mundane of a door being open or a seat belt being unfastened, to the seriousness of a battery or electrical fault...

The yellow (or red) triangle with an exclamation mark "master warning light" in the upper display ("eyebrow" display, above the dash main display) serves to direct your attention to a yellow (or red) warning light in the dash main display.

From page EV-22 of a 2011 owner's manual, "EV UNIQUE INFORMATION", "METERS AND INDICATORS" section:
"The master warning lights are illuminate [sic] when
any warning lights or indicators illuminate in the
lower display or when messages are displayed
on the dot matrix liquid crystal display.
"

There are more details in the "Master warning light (red/yellow)" section.
