I got pulled over last Saturday, 92mph on the onramp to I-405 (the start just North of Seattle). Told the officer I wanted to see how fast the Leaf could go, and there was no traffic. He let me off the hook! I still have the temp plate on the back window so I guess he figured I wasn't lying. I also showed him my 4.3miles per KW on the display and said that reading indicates I don't drive 92mph much.

Gosh forsaken revenue generators. Nothing to do with safety, everything about generating revenue for incompetent municipalities.

That being said, I topped the Leaf at the 94 mph limit for about 30 seconds at 3 AM once. The battery capacity dropped from 64 miles to 54 miles in that timespan. Don't really speed in it anymore....it's a lot more fun to try to get as many miles out of a charge as possible. And the revenue generators can't harass me on the downhills anymore thanks to the excellent regenenerative braking! :D

Got busted doing 57 in a 45, wrote up for 5 over. Country road. Sheriff got me.

I'm tempted to do the Public Act 85 defense, but I'm not a lawyer.

Relatively new law requires speed limits to be based on number of vehicle entry points in a 1/2 mile segment.

55MPH = 29 or fewer entry points
45MPH = 30-44 entry points
35MPH = 45-59 entry points
25MPH = 60+ entry points, business district, parks, etc...

I hopped on Google Maps, found there were 24 entry points, which means they put the wrong sign up... but... I'm still busted doing 2MPH over 55MPH, same exact fee. :lol:
