Updated: As of 8/7/15, Boise, ID (1st use 8/6) with 8 stalls, and Dedham, MA with 8 stalls are listed and mapped. Total U.S. SCs now 43/209/1,384.

Although it's not yet official, just wanted to give a head's-up for anyone heading down to the Concours d'Elegance in Pebble Beach this weekend that the SCs at the service center in Seaside, CA got their first use yesterday by a customer. Norfolk, VA also got its first use today, although the official opening isn't until the 19th.

On a more important note (at least for PR purposes), it appears but is not yet confirmed that the last missing SC site to make an all SC route on I-70 has started construction, in Columbia, MO. Photos show digging underway, but as yet no Tesla-marked boxes or crates. This site, once it's online, will finally provide an efficient all SC LA - east coast route, and it's much overdue.

As of 8/14/15, Monterey-Seaside, CA (1st use 8/13) with 6 stalls is listed and mapped. Total U.S. SCs now 43/210/1,390.

As of 8/15/15, Norfolk, VA (1st use 8/14) with 6 stalls is listed and mapped. Total U.S. SCs now 43/211/1,396.

Columbia, MO construction confirmed - Tesla labeled crates on site, SC stanchion holes being dug and concrete forms ready for pouring, etc. This site really will be the practical route 'Golden Spike'.

It appears the list of states without Superchargers includes:

Alaska
Arkansas
Hawaii
Maine
Mississippi
Nebraska
North Dakota

I can certainly understand Alaska and Hawaii. I am most surprised about Arkansas, Mississippi and Nebraska. They could use some Superchargers!

Does Tesla plan to cover I94 through North Dakota someday? How about something in Maine?

I expect Alaska to be the last state to get them (there's no need for SCs in Hawaii), and hopefully ND (I-94) will be the very last major E-W interstate to be covered, because there are neither enough Teslas in the area or enough through trips to justify it anytime soon.

Tesla's 2015 map shows SCs from Dallas across northern LA to Mississippi (I-20) this year, but as they're well behind their schedule I wouldn't count on it this year. Maine shows 3 or 4 as well, and I suspect at least one will show up this year.

Nebraska (I-80 from SLC to Chicago), Arkansas (I-30 from Dallas to Little Rock and one on I-40 west of Little Rock) and I-94 are shown on the 2016 map; I hope I-80 at least will get done, to connect up in both directions with Council Bluffs. As for I-94, I'd think it would make more sense to first complete the section from the Twin Cities to Fargo, and then north along the Red River Valley on I-29 to Winnipeg. Ultimately, connect Fargo to Bismarck with an SC in Jamestown, and so on into Montana as the traffic/sales call for.

I tend to agree. For east-west routes I'd focus on I-10 and I-20 through Texas and the deep South and the I-40 corridor. But with I-70 and I-90 nearly done I'd think that I-80 and I-94 are lower priority and that finishing some more of the north-south routes would be more important. Not that any of it will matter in a few years when the basic routes are all covered.

So far as Maine is concerned, the future map does show a route through the state to New Brunswick and I'd agree that at least one of those ought to show up this year.

Although already open, a contractor died, apparently of electrocution, at the new Norfolk station today while doing some work to get it ready for the official opening tomorrow : http://insideevs.com/contractor-fatality-at-tesla-supercharging-station-norfolk/

I see that the listing has been pulled from Tesla's SC page, presumably while the investigation goes on and until they fix anything that needs it and they get the okay to turn it back on.

As of 8/24/15, Ann Arbor, MI (1st use 8/20) with 8 stalls is listed and mapped. Total U.S. SCs now 43/212/1,404.

I include Norfolk in the above, even though it remains closed while they do the investigation.

It's not official yet, but Fountain Valley got its first customer uses yesterday, although it has since (today P.M.) been taped off. Strasburg, VA is another SC that's very close to completion.

End of August summary. Only 6 U.S. SCs completed during the month, for a total of 67 this year. To be on track they should have had 96.67 completed, so they've now dropped below 70% of schedule, and heading downwards. They've only completed 2/3rds or less of their scheduled SCs each of the past two years, so this seems to be business as usual for Tesla.

On the positive side, Columbia, MO on I-70; Twin Falls, ID on I-84; Gillette, WY on I-90; Kennewick, WA on I-82/U.S. 395; and Tallahassee, FL on I-10 are all under construction, as is Seabrook, NH on I-95 (allows access to southern Maine, electricity no doubt provided by the nuke plant a mile or so away). Columbia should complete this month assuming no problems, and the others are either probable or possible. Albuquerque should complete this month, leaving only Amarillo to complete I-40 west of OKC.

Strasburg, VA on I-81 is started and eagerly awaited by some, while Las Vegas NM on I--25 is also underway, and will be needed to join ABQ to Trinidad, CO. Once Tallahassee is complete, only Slidell, LA will need an SC to make I-10 complete for S60s from San Antonio to Jacksonville, although an SC in the latter city at least would be very useful. Dublin, CA should open this month, and will provide a somewhat shorter SC detour than Vacaville/Gilroy for those heading up-down I-5 past Sacramento - an SC north of Sacramento and south of Corning is still needed to completely eliminate the dogleg. So, the rate of completion has slowed way down, but Tesla is (finally) finishing up several main routes that have had gaps for a long time.

As of 9/3/15, Strasburg, VA (1st use 9/2) with 6 stalls is listed and mapped. Total U.S. SCs now 43/214/1,418.

It will be easy for me to remember the date that Kennewick opened, as today's the 133rd anniversary of Edison's Pearl Street Power station opening in NYC: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pearl_Street_Station

Also, it's my birthday, and I've wasted enough of it on the internet - I'm outta here! :D

Happy Birthday.

Can I make a suggestion. Can we limit the updates about newly opened sites to just the first day of the month and then list the entire month at one time. You could put the dates on them individually at that time if you think dates are important. The problem I have with posting every day about every new opening is that its hard to see if someone posts something else about superchargers. It's not like there are a lot of Model S owners coming here to find out about new openings anyway, it's more about learning about what Tesla has to offer in the way of superchargers.

Thanks for the B-day wishes. I'm planning to do something like you suggest either at the end of the year, after Tesla gets to 250 (which at their current rate will be around then), or maybe after they've closed the last remaining gaps on I-10/70/90. Probably the end of the year, as I'd like to end at an obvious cut-off for completeness (as I've been tracking construction by years). It's the anal-retentive in me - ending at a random point would drive me nuts! But I agree that the value of posting every new opening is decreasing. The numbers are getting pretty large, and every single opening is no longer a major increase in flexibility. I'm either going to stop posting new U.S. SC openings altogether, or else just post completed routes or those SCs that I think are exceptionally significant. So, just bear with me for a few more months, and our long, national nightmare will be over!

Is there a specific benefit for Leaf owners with this network info? I thought, while Leaf cars might use the Tesla 1772s in the cities and suburbs, the coding at the SCs out in the sticks stopped unauthorized use and Tesla was not selling access to non-Tesla vehicles.
