Plans for home charging: Level 2 charger - Ecototatilty BLINK - EVProject

Dealerships closer to home (Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, San Jose) wanted more $. I checked with Boardwalk Nissan in Sunnyvale and they offered $1k below MSRP but Brendan said he wouldn't sell me anything but an SL. I was well treated over the phone by Ron Coury at North Bay Nissan in Petaluma - he too recommended the SL with the quick charging option, but respected my choice of the SV and offered 5% below MSRP. I filled out the quote request online - minutes later I had a quote, looked it over, accepted it. A good experience over all.

I was a bit hesitant to go that far to buy the LEAF, but checking the distance, it is only 86 miles from Petaluma to Santa Clara. Well within the range of the LEAF.
February 2011 Update - When it was announced that the Ecototality EVProject would provide a rebate for Home Charging Stations in the SF Bay Area, I signed up.
I changed my order from the SV trim to an SL trim - Fortunately, Nissan allowed me to change my order without a delay in the anticipated delivery date (April 2011)

owsinla: from which dealer did you purchase your car? I also live in LA and have an upcoming December order date.

Reply sent by private mail. I coordinated with them by phone before I received my authorization. Once I got the OK from Nissan, it took less than an hour to get a firm quote and accept it.

Good luck!

I wouldn't be surprised. Florida is a strange place, but basically into the environment. We're doing a big, big overhaul of the Everglades to put it back to the way it should be....
I visited Nissan's site last night and got an idea of the accessories they offer. Not having pictures makes it a bit harder to decide what I'd like. I also e-mailed the local distributor (who says he will have the Leaf for me) for an update on everything (including such questions like: will you have a demo to test drive?). Hope to get some answers today.

WHAT I am trying to say is: I dont think you have really ordered a car yet

you have reserved on online?

have you had an assemsnt or a waiver?

have you RAQ with a dealer thru the Nissan dashboard?

I dont think so ,, could be wrong

My guess is all you have done is reserved

If you sent this e-mail to your PD, and received no response, what would you do??

Hello xxxx,

As you are aware, since you have confirmed to me a discount of $xxx.xx below MSRP, I have selected you as my preferred dealer for ordering the Leaf. I expect my dashboard to open for ordering within the next 30 days or so. In order to avoid last-minute mis-understandings/delays, I would like for you to quote me the TOTAL COST due upon delivery, including all shipping/taxes/registration/license/document fees, etc. That way, we can complete the ordering process quickly and smoothly.

The specifics regarding my order will be as follows:

Name: (to be listed on the title) xxxx
address: xxxx

Phone: xxxx

My order will be for the xxxx, color xxx quick charger. No other options, no trade-in, no financing. Cash payment in full upon delivery.
I have been approved for the complimentary Ecotality eTec 240V residential charger.

Please respond,

Regards,

For a response to the email give them at least 3 business days; but a phone call to confirm they received it also helps (people are not scheduled to work 7 days a week, get sick, emails get lost/spam-filtered, etc)

But basically: Face-2-face or telephone follow-up ? F2F is preferred, if the dealer is reasonably local.
