On day 4 of Leaf ownership!

Though we enjoy driving the Leaf, our experience was somewhat diminished by finding out that it's likely the case that the SV model is NOT eligible for the home Level 2 ecotality charger install -- despite being touted as the dealer as something we should take advantage of. if we'd known this, we would have purchased the SL model instead.

Yesterday was 'charge day' for the Leaf -- we only had a 7 hour window of non-use overnight to get 50 miles of charge into it using the 120v charger.

How is the upgrade from Ingineer going to help if he only has 120v access?

If he was going to have an ecotality EVSE installed in his garage he has 240v available. Just have an electrician install an outlet and your done. He might even have one already. EVSEupgrade is by far the best solution for those who don't want to get ripped off with the purchase and installation of an EVSE. It is all I've ever used or needed since I purchased the car 18 months ago.

2012 Moonglow SL. QC port, seems to have all the trimmings. Wish it had power seats and key fob actuated fueling door, but my car payment is the same I was paying in gasoline for my Avalanche per month! Can't wait to get my level 2 charger, I put a lot of miles on this puppy. :D

I believe this is the thread to post leasing or purchasing experience.

Last Friday (8/31/12) I leased a SL for $300.05 per month, nothing down, 15,000 miles annually. All I needed to pay was my 1st month lease payment and drive away. I must admit though that I did add a service that I believe was referred to as Drop and Drive which covers scratches/dents that are larger than a quarter coin, tire wear, an additional 1000 miles, and anything that doesn't work such as a power window. That optional service was an additional $15 per month.

I brought it to work, let my coworkers drive it, and now 2 of them are trying to get the same deal (in Minnesota). The dealership that I got mine from has 2 new SL's left, but can't do the same deal again because the incentives are different this month. I'm motivated to help them get a Leaf because I believe they will put in charging stations at work as part of the "going green" initiative if there is more than 1 electric vehicle.

$70/ month? WOW

Well, that is only because of the high down payment. It looks like everyone is paying somewhere between $3,200 and $3,600 per year for their combined down payment and lease payments.

Based on this thread, I am having an email dialogue with several dealers in WA State.

This is what they've come back to me with and wanted to get thoughts if this is a good deal:

2012 Nissan SL

Out of pocket fees = $1,110 due at signing (595 acquisition fee, 150 doc fee, license fee 225 and b&o tax of 140).

$199 a month for 24 month lease, 12k miles a year.

The residual is 56% of the msrp leaf. Roughly $21,431 and there is a 395 disposition fee at the end of the lease.

Good or still room to negotiate?

Welcome my local friend! You should check out the official regional LEAF meetup at (yes, ironically named) http://mdvolt.org/ where we're gathering at the region's first CHAdeMO on Connecticut avenue this weekend; also check us out on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/capital.leafs/. Finally, just want to say glad you got the Sales Tax credit as they just ran out of funds a couple weeks ago so no more $2,000 off Sales Tax on LEAF or Volt sales in MD.

Oh, and also please check out the http://www.evadc.org/ for the area's premier Electric Vehicle association and official EAA chapter.
