I like those "umbrellas". I wonder whether we will get some nice designs or just utilitarian architecture.

I think it's just utilitarian architecture.

Sorry, ruimegas. I should have spoken more "clearly" :)

I'd like to see a photograph of (or a link to a website to purchase) a receptacle (electrical socket on the wall) that you would plug into with the portable L2 EVSE that was in the trunk of the LEAF. The blue connector at the end of the EVSE (with the yellow tag) looks a little like this.

But I want to be sure to know what the other end (where you plug in) looks like. And am I correct to assume the EVSE is for single-phase AC (not three-phase) ?
Thanks again.

A short wire coming out of a box, like the tail on the back end of a pig, is sometimes called a "pigtail" (a short wire, or cord).
I thought a connector with short wire only hanging off was a pigtail. The blank wire end would be hardwired. (or add connnector of choice)
With two connectors (one each end) I hear it referred to as a "dogbone adapter" or just "dogbone"

No worries. I just want Europe to stay up with our nonsense ;)

"Soap on a rope" is a parody (joke) about a product made to solve a problem that does not exist.

The Euro EVSE's wall plug won't fit into standard Schuko. That's probably why they also show an "extension cord" in the picture of the equipment in the trunk. The "extension cord" seems to be standard Schuko. I am looking to skip the intermediate cord and plug directly into the Euro wall receptacle.

Thank you, "sm". That second link made sense and led to this: http://cpc.farnell.com/pro-elec/is1026r/wall-mount-skt-16a-240v-2p-e-blu/dp/PL09782

Maybe ruimegas can confirm that this would be the proper socket to plug the LEAF's portable EVSE into ?

Looks like you got the right answer without me and I'm gald you did because I never had the chance to see how do they plug it to recharge the LEAF but makes sense to me that the adapter cord permit the plug in to a regular european plug to charge it.
