AutoNation Nissan in Marietta, Georgia is doing it right. They have a reliable Nissan branded unit, just the push of a button to use, a beautiful new dealership with a comfortable waiting room, and 24/7 access. Thanks for showing how it's done!

Very pleased with this dealer... Head and shoulders above my past experiences with other dealers. Super nice, no scams or tricks in the finance office, gave me exactly what I wanted with some negotiation on the dollars.

Perhaps we should shift all of our business and referrals to dealers
that offer QC 24/7 at a reasonable price (free is very reasonable)?

And, are honest, have competent service, etc.

Sadly, that might be a short list, but worth knowing about, I think.

Fontana Nissan still gets the thumbs up from me. Even though their QC isn't 24/7, they are typically open quite late and are very accommodating.

I am also disappointed in the lack of the response. Part of me wonders if it's because there isn't much to report? From what I can see on Plugshare, outside of the original West coast markets that received their QC stations before the announcement (of the 100 dealerships), there are only 5 Nissan dealers with QCs in the entire country, and 2 of them also had theirs before the announcement. The only new ones that I see on Plugshare are the two in the Atlanta area and one in the Washington DC area. I'm sure there must be more that haven't been discovered yet, but I don't think Nissan is anywhere near 100.

My other theory is that his "update" was actually the announcement that Nissan is going to provide up to $15k in rebates for anyone who installs a CHAdeMO station. IIRC, that announcement came the day after his post here stating an update "shortly".

The other day I talked to a LEAF salesman at the local dealership. I asked him if there were any QC stations in the area as of today. No, not at this time but we are working on getting one soon. I asked him to define soon.

He said "Sometime in the spring"

Meanwhile, Tesla has 198 Supercharger charging stalls operational at 31 stations (33 sites). Amazingly enough, they tell people where they are so that they can use them, a concept that Nissan apparently hasn't quite accepted.

I hate to ask, but has anyone heard any more info about this? I would be happy just having a definite list of cities... if my area isn't getting one at least I would know not to get my hopes up.

Thanks!

Don't get your hopes up.

To be a LEAF dealer, you have to have a LEAF tech and the diagnostic machine, a considerable expense. Yet a CHAdeMO is optional.

Missed opportunities.

I can confirm one has sprouted in Northern Virginia, outside of Washington DC.

In 11 months of leasing my Leaf it is the first time I have been able to use the L3 port. I'm quite happy about it's placement too. It allows me to visit my Uncle's house 50 miles one way from my own in my Leaf rather than via the wife's CRV.

That's a shame. There are eight Nissan dealers within 30 miles of me with QCs and at least five others in the process of installing them. I hope it gets better for you soon.

So you'll have 13 QC's in your area? Wow! We only have 1 in the entire state of Colorado right now.

Yep, thats just the Nissan dealers in LA and Orange counties. There are a few other no-cost units as well in downtown at the LADWP buildings and at the South Coast AQMD office in Diamond Bar. It seems to be improving month to month, maybe not as fast as people would like but with the Blink buy-out those (currently non-functioning) DCQCs in the greater Tri-county area should hopefully come online after the new year. Even with them being pay-to-play it's still nice to have the QC option available. Keep up the pressure on your local and state governments to make it happen. Good luck.

I think it was (physicist) Michio Kaku who I heard say, "The future is already here -- it's just unevenly distributed." Ain't that the truth... there are roughly 3 dozen QC stations in the greater SF Bay area, maybe a quarter of which are at dealerships.

Actually that was William Gibson, I believe. Great quote, though!

UNTIL WHEN???

Patience, grasshopper.

Sometimes the longer you wait for an answer, the better the answer is. Battery costs and even prices will decline.

Even if the first battery lease deal is attractive only to the hot areas (AZ, TX, etc.), eventually there will be an answer for even the cold areas. And the only realistic answer for the cold areas is the purchase of a replacement pack.

No kidding. I can drive down to California or up to Whistler, BC using the quick chargers around here.

Nice, someone from a dealership responding. We are so happy to hear from you and wish you well.

Are there any other dealership employees following this thread that wish to update us on your situation???

I haven't personally checked it out yet, but Plugshare shows a QC at Conicelli Nissan on the northwest side of Philly. This is a pretty good location because there are several major freeways (including PA Turnpike) nearby. This is in addition to the 2 locations on the other side of the river along the NJ Turnpike. So this makes 3 QC in the area, now.
