Yeah, but there were some numbers for how many reservations were made in the first three hours, and they were pretty impressive (several thousand?)....I'm off to see if I can go find them. Edit: Found them already - 2700 in the first 3 hours.

I wonder of those 2,700, how many were in the first roll-out states...

WTF  is all I have to say....OCTOBER for me!! I'm in Northern Calif. - reserved within 3 hours of 4/20 e-mail. Had my EVSE assessment on 7/16.

Time for a Chat with Nissan !
That's what I'm saying. This stinks.

edit - to add:
What confuses me is my assessor made a comment about how "high up" I was on the reservation list based on my number. I'm really curious if something happened with either a) my location in Calif., or b) my assessment requiring me to install a new panel.

cinmar: I'm 40 or so minutes north of you. I postponed my original assessment from 7/21 to 7/28. Yesterday an email from Nissan revealed the electrical contractor (H&D Electric in Sacramento), which is very different from your SanJose contractor. An hour or so ago I postponed the assessment again (to 8/24). My "get ready to order" email says August (see 2nd post in this thread).

So ... location should not be it, unless it is triggered by the long-distance contractor. Extra panel might do it. I am wondering what the contractor really was saying by "high up" ... who is your prefered dealer ? Stockton or Elk Grove (EG in my case) ?

**September in Washington**

Anyone from WA got for August?

Ordered on 4/20... disappointing

where u live? i am in Oly, mine says august

Congratulations! I am in Bothell. Did you order on 4/20?

i was one of the idiots who sat in front of their computer on april 20th thinking the email to register would come near the beginning of the registration period INSTEAD OF 15 MINUTES AFTER THE SCHEDULED CLOSE

but did complete and submit my deposit less than 5 minutes after email arrived

I'm probably going to cancel my reservation, MA is "fall or winter 2011", I have better uses for $99 than giving a multinational corporation a $100 interest free loan for 1.5 years, I'm also rapidly losing interest in the Leaf

Elk Grove. On on live chat with Nissan now to ask what the deal is.

You might want to think twice about that.

Hertz is getting a bunch of Leafs after the initial roll-out period, and others will as well. Even though your time period is fall or winter, the data from the early wave MIGHT make them the hottest prospect for a year or more to get.

Keep your $99 reservation, get a Leaf at MSRP. Wait in line with all other non-$99 depositors....your leaf may cost you many thousands OVER MSRP. It's only $99, I'd wait it out.

I think they have to get some to the poor people in north county before the rich in south county can get them. Probably being as Nissan is part Renault, which is French and socialist.

Michael, if I was rich, I'd have a Tesla and would be past all of this angst.

Got mine...a little disappointing, but what I expected living out in the sticks...

Hi Evan, thanks for reserving your 100% electric Nissan LEAF™. We just wanted to let you know that orders will begin in your area in fall or winter 2011.

We'll send you an e-mail when it's time to work with a dealer to pick your car's color, review options and get a quote.

As you can imagine, the response for the Nissan LEAF has been tremendous. The Nissan LEAF order period will be staggered by state, and the timing of your reservation will hold your place.

As a result, orders from states with an infrastructure to support electric driving - either in place or planned - will be taken first. But no matter where you live, you'll be among the first in your area to get a LEAF.

they must have found out u were going to Australia and could stand to wait a bit.

Same here... Fall/Winter 2011... Hope it is a case of under promise over deliver! Especially considering the schedule goes from Dec to fall/winter. I'm still hoping for June.

Per Nissan chat, they say the order month is solely based on reservation order and will be staggered by state.

I'll try to stay optimistic. When I ordered our smart, they kept bumping back the delivery date because the demand was so high and schedules change as they do. In the end, I picked up an orphaned smart (someone else’s canceled order) about 6 mos. before my smart was to be delivered. I just kept following up with the dealership, which helped my cause.

And that'll actually work out fine. I should have a better idea when the Model S will be available and what my financial situation will be. Would be nice to sell the Prius, buy both a Leaf and the Model S and keep our Highlander Hybrid for occasional use when needed. We'd commute gas free year round but still have the 3rd vehicle for hauling stuff, long trips, etc. Plan to hand down the Leaf to my kids when they start driving in about 5 years.

Also hoping they boost the charger to 6.6kw by then. Could give or take the L3.

Sweet got the email for sept. 2010 in good ole' San Bernardino, Ca. Reserved on 4/20 evening.
