I was thinking of ordering a custom magnetic "bumper sticker" for the rear hatch that would say something like this:

Average SUV - 22 Cents/mile
Average Hybrid - 8 Cents/mile
This Nissan Leaf - 2 Cents/mile

Cheap Domestic Energy - Stop Funding Dictators (or something like that)

(I got these stats from here: http://avt.inel.gov/pdf/fsev/costs.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

What do you think?

You could easily have a bumper sticker created by the many vinyl decal dealers on eBay.

I think I'm going to do a magnetic door sign...

Are those stats correct?

From what I recall, the side doors are aluminum and not magnetic, but the rear hatch door is magnetic. As far as your numbers, the Leaf costs are dependent on your electricity supplier. My costs are generally higher than 2 cents/mile, but I live in California where we have some of the highest electricity prices in the nation.

I live in LA and it is 2 cents a mile.
get rid of the for-profit utility.

Correct. You can not put a magnetic sign on the doors or front bumper but you can put it on the rear hatch.

My intent is to put it on the rear hatch anyways.

Our electricity here is supplied by a member owned co-op and my numbers are about 4¢/mile from the wall (I'm assuming people aren't using the artificially low miles/kWh number from the car). A lot depends on the driving conditions (major hills here) and climate.
