Realizing that I need to act before the end of the year to get the 30% fed tax rebate, I will be ordering a charging station online soon. Knowing there are others in this situation (No EV until sometime next year), I figured I would start a thread with what I have found. Yes much of this is contained in various threads but I thought it would be good to pull it together in one spot.

Here are six options...if there are others please chime in.

1. Clipper Creek LCS-25 - 25A, 5.0 kW. $995 direct from manufacturer.

2. GE Universal (Wattstation)- 30A?, 7.2kW. $999 from Lowes.

3. Leviton EVB22-3PM Evr-Green 160 Home Charging Station - 15A, 3.8kW. $999.75 from Amazon

4. Schneider EVlink - 30A, 7.2kW. $799 from Home Depot. Indoor Only.

5. SPX Power Xpress - 25A, 5.7kW?. $949 from manufacturer

6. Legrand EV - 16A, 3.8kW?. $749 from Home Depot

Is the 30% fed tax rebate on installation or can you get the 30% fed tax rebate on just the EVSE.

I bought one on E-bay for $500, and installed it myself, so do I get a $150 fed tax rebate?

Good question. I have been assuming it is on both the equipment and installation. Reading through the law it would seem that this is the case.

Can anyone verify?

The 30% credit is applied to the total cost of equipment, installation, shipping and sales tax.

Note: to those in the EV Project who had to pay additional installation costs (in excess of the $1200 covered by Ecotality) - you can't claim the credit on your out-of-pocket because you don't own the equipment - bummer

Can you change the title of your thread from "charging station" to "list EVSEs available for purchase online" or something like that? L2 charging stations aren't "chargers". The L1 and L2 chargers are in the car.

At first, I thought this was yet another thread on online lists/databases of public charging stations. I wish there were a definitive, complete and up to date one...

SPX Power Xpress should also be on the list. Unlike the Voltec anyone can buy it. Unfortunately, the new price doesn't make it as attractive as it once was.

And afaik still has an issue when using the LEAF timer with just an end of charge setting.
