I am looking for a S model to lease for 24 months. can anyone posts their recent leasing experience and what kind of deal i can expect?

prices are crazy right now.. Was quoted $388 per month (1st payment down) for a SV + LED/QC. 24mo 12k (no vpp), expect around $8000 as best case scenario with VPP.

I am looking for a S model. what would be the best price per month for this?

In Nov 2012 I leased a 2012 Leaf SL from Carriage Nissan in Gainesville. Carl and Brad were my salespeople. They were super courteous and gave me a great deal: $269/mo (tax included) + $500 cash, 24 mo, 24k miles, $395 disposition fee.

There was almost no haggle. It was late in the evening, and my original intent was to buy a Mitsu i from Carriage Mitsu, but they wouldn't meet my numbers. However, their financial guy, Paul, steered me to their sister Nissan dealer who he said would be willing to meet my numbers for my lease. They did, and I'm a happy camper...except I now want the 2013 Leaf with the 6.6kW charger, B mode, better regen, leather interior.....:)

So far the best deal i got for S model is $284 per month for 24 months.

If you want an apples to apples comparison, you need to read the thread linked at the top of the forum to develop your total lease cost:

VPP deal (or not)?
Down Payment?
# of miles/year?
End of Lease Disposition Fee?

Here are the quotes that I have gotten for S and SL for VPP pricing in Atlanta, GA with $0 down; 24 monhts/12K mileage per year.

The quotes seem a bit high with VPP pricing - any feedback? what is the target price that I should shoot for? Thanks for your feedback.

S with charger (MSRP: $31,265)
Downpayment: $0
Monthly Payment: $299.24 ($240.76 + $58.48 tax)
Disposition Fees: $395
===============
Total cost: $7,059.08

SL (MSRP: $36,320)
Downpayment: $0
Monthly Payment: $415.36 ($343.64 + $71.72 tax)
Disposition Fees: $395
===============
Total cost: $10,363.64

We picked up our S yesterday from Nalley Nissan in Decatur. Really nice people there. First went to Gwinnet Place Nissan where they had an S on the lot, but felt like they were jerking us around so we left. At Nalley they had an S on the way and so we wrote them a check to hold it and it arrived the next day. I am an employee of Emory University, eligible for VPP, but instead used a $2800 discount from True Car (another Emory employee benefit).

S with quick charge port and LED lights (MSRP: $31,000) *sorry, I don't have the exact figures in front of me*
Downpayment: $2000
24 months/ 12,000 miles
Monthly Payment: $227
Disposition Fees: $395
===============
Total cost: $7,843

Man, just last December I got mine for $232/m x 23 months, 15k miles/year, 0 down, with the 395 disp fee at turn in. I wanted to look at another one later this year, not sure it will make sense TO ME with the numbers I'm seeing here.

Crazy that taxes on leases are 20% or more of the "lease price"... Could anyone in Georgia help give a breakout of the tax amounts? Typical sales tax is 7%, plus the GA DMV now goes to a "up front" lifetime tax of vehicles at 6.5% (or maybe it's 7.5% in 2013)... So that accounts for maybe $50 of the $71.72. What other lovely taxes are hidden in there?

I picked up an SV for 2 year, 24K miles, $280/month(taxes included), 0 down + $395 disposation fee.

This comes out to 280*12 + $56 + $395 = $7171 - $5000(GA Tax credit) = $2171

What is the $56 for?
Did your "Zero Down" including the first month's payment? (Leaving you with only 23 payments)?

The new car tax law switched in March 2013 from paying an annual ad velorum tax to paying a 1 time ad velorum tax based on the final sale price of the vehicle less incentives (even for a lease, it is not based on the cap cost). So if you negotiated a final price of $28,000 then subtract the $7500 incentive and tax the balance ($20,500) at 6.5% = $1332.50. You could pay this up front (down payment) or roll it into a 24 month lease = $55~/mo on top of the lease cost.

The S deal above for $299/mo is based on the VPP price ($1k under invoice) on a 24mo 12kmi/yr, which includes the new TAVT (Title Ad Velorum Tax).
I received this same quote from Regal Nissan this past week.

The SV deal above is based on $33,900 sale price (assuming VPP for SV)

I have called around and am planning on signing tomorrow for:
S w/ QC, 24 mo, 15k mi/yr
$500 down (trying to negotiate down to $0-- 1st payment only)
$269 / mo (including TAVT of 6.5%)
Assuming Dispo Fee is extra (try to negotiate out)
--------------------------------
Total w/ $500 down and Disp fee = $7,351
Total w/ $0 down no Disp fee and 24 pyments = $6,456

In Atlanta there are ads on the internet for 2 yr lease 1999 down 24 payments of 199. On Aug 10, 2013 I got my Leaf off the lot. My lease is 24 payments of 325 and 0 down. I am paying $1,700 over the ad price. Model S no option package. I have send documentation to Nissan in Tennessee about this deal I got from Capitol City Nissan. Avoid them. I do not understand how you can run an ad and no live up to it. I love the car and have named her Sparky Dee. I started a blog, so I could vent: LorenzoAWallace.blogspot.com and the title is "Nightmare at Capitol City Nissan". At 500 miles there was an AC leak onto the floorboards. I went to AutoNation Nissan. They offered $200 for each Leaf referral that purchases. They had 8 Leafs on their lot. Also AutoNation is national and should have economies of scale. Cap City is a Mom and Pop.

Your prices seem to be correct for ATL. Without VPP prices are 50 per month higher. Even then at a total cost of 9K for 2 years minus the 5K GA tax credit, you get the car for 2000 per year. That works out to less than .20 per mile (charging included), so long as you put the 12K per year on it. An ICE car cost much more than that, even on a economy car. That is why IRS tax rate is .565 per mile. A large SUV can run north of .75 per mile. Regal Nissan is still doing the 10 days of free rental car over the life of lease as well that Nissan used to offer. (I estimate that be worth around 500 against deprecation & maintenance so long as you have to still keep an ICE car as I do for longer trips)

The Ad Velourm taxes on mine (S with charger package) were 1358.85 so you math seems right. Taxes were included in my monthly lease. Dispo fee (if you do not get another Nissan at end of lease) and maintenance (365 for 30K) were extra.

Nearly half of my hockey team has one of these cars now.

I was offered the following deal this evening for an in stock blue Leaf S with the charge package.
I have never leased a car before so would appreciate any advice as to whether this is a fair deal.

36 months /12 K
$199 / M (1 st payment due at signing)
$1999 initial payment
$1650 TAVT Tax (GA)
$1366 All Doc Fees*

*All Docs Fee =
Bank Aquisitition Fee $595
Dealer Documentation $698
Tag / Title $61 + 18 = $79
Lemon Law = $3

Initially they said $249 * 36 (because of the charge pkge) but agreed to do it for $199

Thanks for any advice.

I asked could they do the same for 24 months but they said no although did not give a reason.
I may change it to a 15k which they said is computed by Nissan and so would be a straightforward addition.

I would take a look at the 2 year lease assuming you are in GA. I acquired a stock blue Leaf S with the charge package for 349 a month, with 12K per year miles, and .15 per mile over that. Also got 10 days of free rental car from dealer, and towing for 3 years.

On the surface the 199 for 3 looks much better, but the 349 has no initial payment (except 1st month like yours and 365 for the maintenance plan, which covers tires, required 7500 mile check, etc). Plus it covers all Doc fees and the TAVT. Only other thing you have to pay is the 20 dollar tag fee each year to GA, and insurance, which you would have with any car. So bottom line your cost to Nissan is 8,376 for the lease plus the 349. Then you get the 5,000 dollar tax credit. Which brings the total down to under 4K, or less than 2K per year (1862.5 to be exact). The 3 year you are being quoted would cost you 12,179 to Nissan (with no maintenance plan, may want to ask about that, my dealer required it.) After 5k credit you are at 7179. That is 2,393 per year.

So under this model you would save over 500 per year, plus in two years you can get a new one, and the 5000 tax credit all over again. The 5000 dollar GA tax credit is the reason the 2 year is typically a better deal in GA.

Also don't forget to ask about the turn in fee if you don't lease/buy at end. I got it waived.

Unless you have a tire problem, there is no maintenance required during the first 24,000 miles/2 years. The first year checkup (12k miles) is free. Paying anything for a maintenance plan is pure profit to the dealership.
