Brammo has released a few interesting details of their new production electric Sport Bikes. Liquid cooled motor, six speed transmission and J1772 L2 charging. The full reveal will be May 8 in LA and the "R" model is expected to transfer alot of design from Brammo's TTXGP race bikes. Brammo website here;

Depending on your state, Gov incentives can make these bikes VERY affordable.

Will post pics here when released.

Any guesses on what this might cost? The Enertia and Enertia Plus go for about $8k and $11k respectively (less 10% from the existing fed tax incentive + state incentives). Could the this go for as much as $20k?

Best looking electric streetfighter I've seen so far. Actually... the Empulse is the only production version that I'm aware of, all others seem to be still in the works. Are there other production ready streetfighter, sport or sport touring bikes out there?

Looks like more details have sprung up today.

40kW motor, 10kWh battery and some pretty trick hardware. No idea what it will cost.

It must be a really tiny charger to take 3.5 hours to charge a 10Kw pack...
240V 12-16A - kind of like the one hiding in the boot of your car, just a lot smaller.

Another competitor in electric scooters-
A key factor in the redesign was making the scooter electrically powered. The motor is placed inside the rear wheel, says Ryan James, Lit Motors’ chief marketing officer.

Brammo has been promising these for at least a year. Pricing is high---They used to be about 16K for the Empulse and a couple of grand more for the R model. Some, I believe have been delivered. It would have to be a very good motorcycle for that kind of money. I think the Federal tax rebate is $2,500 for motorcycles. It might be fun, but I don't know how many takers are out there. I don't quite understand the need for a 6-speed transmission when 2-speeds would be just fine. I believe the dealer in Tampa, Fl. has a demo unit and I might go ride it just to see what it is like. I hope the battery fire they had at their test facility isn't a bad omen. I owned a Vectrix and watched a pretty good product go down the tubes. It really missed the mark on "claimed" range v.s. actual. They were on the verge of a LiON product when they shuttered their doors in the U.S. Parts of Vectrix live on in Europe and China. When the charger on mine failed it was very costly to replace and next to impossible to get one or other parts for it. I scrapped the Vectrix and put the batteries in my backup power supply for part of my house. They lived there for over a year now very nicely.
