It was the VPP price utilizing my loyalty rebate. Town Center Nissan had the best price though the one in Lithonia should be just as good.

Nice deal, but how much is/was the Loyalty Rebate? Looks like Nissan offers these in a wide range ($500 - $5000) and it certain skews your deal.

Loyalty is $1000.

Took home our new car yesterday:

State : AZ
Sales tax % :7.80%
3 yr lease with 15,000 Miles/year
Leaf Trim, options : S w/Charger package
Pearl White

MSRP :$31,145.00
Lease Cash Back = $8,150
Negotiated VPP Price :$28,235
Any other fees (doc, administrative, marketing etc): Doc fee, etc. Around $400
Monthly payment :$247.xx after tax, title, etc.
Driveoff fees = $1000 including first month

Traded in our old car as well for $5K which puts us at a little over $100 a month. Very pleased.

Did all of the work via email with the dealer, walked in to test drive, and had the papers in front of us rather quickly. Had to haggle on the trade-in but it was worth it. Still wondering if I should have bought (my employer offers a $3K income incentive for purchases of alternative fuel vehicles) but with the changing technology, rapid depreciation, and battery issues here in Arizona I couldn't get comfortable with it.

Thanks. How does one equate $1000 to a potential lease cost (overall and monthly) when considering a potential 2 or 3 year lease?

In a similar vein - How does one equate VPP to a potential non-VPP least quote/cost? I believe VPP is $1000 below Invoice (not MSRP), right?

State : CA
Sales tax % :8.70%
Leaf Trim, options : Plain S no QC (Super Black)
MSRP :31455.00
Negotiated VPP Price :26220.00
Disposition fee: 395
Rent charge: 411.98
Downpayment :0
Registration: 252
Tax on Capitalized cost reduction: 557.49
Sales tax paid in advance: 6.40
Document processing charge: 80
DMV electronic filing fee 29
Monthly payment :$231.41 + tax of $18.51 == $249.92
Term: 36 months 12k
Purchase option at the end of my lease: 11,928.00

This was a good deal right? I get 2500 back because of the CVRP.

The problem is I signed the contract last week, and have been driving the car ever since, but out of nowhere the dealer calls wanting to "fix" the contract and said it won't be changing anything I pay. What could be wrong with it? Is he trying to trick me?

---> Your deal is quite good. I am not sure that dealer can change anything in contract since it was agreed upon and signed.

He is saying he lowered the price of the car, but everything will stay the same except the interest has increased.

Hi all,

Got the following lease quote on a 2013 Leaf (3 yrs, 12K per year)

Model S with QC
MSRP - 31,120
Residual % - 40%
Lease-end value - 12,448
Initial Cap Cost - 28,187 (with VPP)
Rebate - 8,150
Downpayment - $2000
Adjusted Cap cost - 20,065
Monthly payment - 212.58 + 18.6 (tax) - 231.18

Is it a good deal ?

There are so many variations to the lease quotes so it has been tough to compare. Appreciate your help.

Hi all - After snooping around for months on this blog, I just closed a 36 month lease with Premier Nissan - San Jose. Appreciate all the posts till date on buying/leasing details. Made for a very straight forward negotiation when it came down to "buy" time.

Here are the vital stats
- 2013 SL w/ premium package - Super Black
- 36 month 12k miles lease
- Drive off $1000 (includes 1st month payment)
- Monthly lease payment of $340 inclusive of tax
- VPP discount
- MSRP - $36,740 (not that it matters!)

More details from the lease sheet

Gross cap cost - $33,552 (incl $595 acq fees)
Cap cost reduction - $7410
Adj cap cost - $26,143 (calc)
Residual value - $15,502 (I believe its 48%)
Depreciation - $10,641
Rent charge - $614
Total base monthly payment - $11,255
Base monthly payment - $313
Sales tax - $27
Total monthly payment - $340

Other fees
Title fees - $304
Reg fees - $648
Sales tax paid in advance (?) - $7
Doc fees - $80
DMV filing fee - $29
CA tire fee - $7

total Rebates - $7825

Highly recommend the folks @ Premier - San Jose, well worth the drive depending on where you live. The whole process was quite straight forward. I started with a call into dealership around 1p detailing the car I was looking for and my expectation on the pricing etc. Also make it clear that I would make the deal tonight if the numbers worked out. After couple calls I felt confident that these folks were dealing straight. So got to the dealership around 5p. First the test drive, then bit of negotiation (I called for SL minus the premium package but ended up opting for the premium package) then the finance guy....baba bing, bada boom.... I was driving my new Leaf out the lot with my kids in the backseat before 8p. All things considered one of the smoothest car buying experiences till date.

Ask for Sohee, she's very knowledgeable, detail oriented and super nice. There are still quite a few Leafs on the lot and they should be motivated to make year end deals.

Good luck and let me know if I can answer any questions.

i don't know specifics of VPP cost other than i used my employer's web portal to submit requests to dealers in my area. it would seem that even that is negotiable but all the prices seem to come in right around the same figure give or take a few hundred

in your case (or any other with sales tax involved) you should break down that $2000 payment.

my negotiated price was higher at $29,000 (had mud flaps and floor mats which shouldnt be that much more but...) but your deal should really detail total payments or in your case

$2,000 down
231.18*35 8091.30 or $10,091.30 minus your $2500 makes it $7591.30 or 21.1 cents per mile

mine was zero down. $245.75 * 35 or 8601.25 for 15,000 miles or 19.2 cents per mile

SoCal dealers are starting to deal a bit finally. Yesterday, I was able to get some to offer $1500 below invoice (I am not eligible for VPP pricing which is $1000 below invoice). Today I'm sure you could get even a better deal.

I'm planning to lease a new one this morning in the exact configuration I wanted (and pay a bit more). Hopefully it works out and I will post the details when done.

I just got home from picking up my new Leaf (Metallic Slate SV + QC/LED + Premium) for $1400 under invoice from Mossy Oceanside (I am not eligible for VPP).

State : CA
Sales tax % : 9%
Leaf Trim, options : SV + QC/LED + Premium
MSRP : $35,350
Invoice : $33,306
Negotiated Price : $31,900
Acquisition fee: $595
Taxes, Title, Registration : $950.65
Any other fees (doc, DMV, tire) : $105
Money Factor : .00003 I think
Downpayment : $1000 (Nissan Loyalty cash)
Monthly payment : $325.50 (includes taxes)

36 Months/12,000 miles a year

Thank you. The cents per mile is an excellent measure of the lease terms. I locked in a new deal with Premier Nissan of San Jose yesterday.

S model with QC
3 years / 36 K miles
Down Payment: $2000
Monthly payment: $194 + tax coming to $212
It's coming to 19.8 cents per mile
