So Danny, would it be possible for you to state precisely what your response to a SV and SL RAQ will be?
You meant if we're able to provide you with pricing including the break down of what the tax, license, etc.. would be or the process on how we handle the RAQ?

Actually, a description if the Customer Dashboard process would be REALLY helpful.

I still (as of yesterday) cannot get past the "sign up for AV evaluation" pages, in spite of my calls to Nissan Customer Service at 1-877-664-2738. Is this going to be a problem or cause a delay?

Presumably we can select any dealer to order from, in spite of NOT having selected a "preferred" dealer, right?

Thanks again.

So specifically here are my questions.
1) What line items specifically are included in a dealer RAQ response? For your dealership is it just MSRP - $1000 or are other costs specified (such as doc fees, registration, title, taxes, etc? If not, when will see what the all-in amount is?
2) Will your RAQ response include a statement regarding your offer that you will transport the vehicle to the customers destination up to 200 at no additional cost?
3) Will your RAQ response state specifically that no other charges (dealer prep, advertising, additional dealer markup, etc) will be added? I know you've stated that on this forum, but is it also specified in the contact?

Nissan says if we accept your RAQ response, then it's a contract. That's great but contracts aren't usually nebulous regarding charges.

I would like to see what a RAQ response to a fictitious Leaf buyer would look like.

According to Nissan we’ll have info regarding pricing and programs later on today or tomorrow. We can work out all the details with you once we obtain that. In the meantime here’s a preview of the ordering process.

2011 Nissan Leaf – Vehicle Ordering Process

The most important thing is to have Fontana Nissan set as your Preferred Dealer in your Leaf account before you start the Ordering Process!!

When you receive your email from Nissan confirming that you can now “Request a Quote” to order your Leaf – now it is time to start the process!

Once you receive the email, log into your Nissan Leaf account and go to “my account”
There will now be a tab labeled: order vehicle – request a quote
You start the process by selecting: get started

At this point you are able to review the trim level, color and accessories you would like on your fabulous new Leaf – after you confirm the trim, color, etc - now you will be prompted to click on Fontana Nissan as your favorite preferred dealer!!

Once you click on Fontana Nissan - you will need to select how you plan to pay for the vehicle – Cash, Lease or Finance – if you are not sure, just pick cash – we will agree on the price and you can decide later in regards to the Lease or Finance. – This is mainly to make sure that we have agreed on the price and to get the car into production as quickly as possible.

It will then ask you how you plan to pay for the home charging unit?? If you are paying for it separately or financing it with the purchase of the Leaf.

Now you are ready to submit your “request a quote” to Fontana Nissan.

Once you submit your “request a quoted” to Fontana Nissan , we will receive the request, contact you to confirm the information received and send you back the “Dealer Offer” –

Once you accept the offer as written, you will receive a disclosure from Nissan regarding purchasing an electric vehicle. – Upon approval of this disclosure, your Leaf will be ordered and sent to production….YEAH!!

Once your vehicle is scheduled for production, you will receive an estimated time frame from Nissan for when your brand new shiny wonderful Nissan Leaf will arrive and be ready to go home with you ~ and live happily every after :D

Thanks Danny. I understand you are still awaiting details but regarding the contact and returned "Dealer Offer", is that done through the dashboard or through email?

Through the dashboard in your leaf account.

Danny, do you know yet about what time that email from Nissan will come through on Friday?

No I don't know when Nissan will send you the email but we're well prepared to take all orders on that day.

1. How will you "contact" us to confirm the details?
Phone number?

2. Will NOT having an AV assessment scheduled (or done) hold up
the Request for Quote or the ordering in ay way?

Asked aother way, how is this "not using AV waiver" being handled,
and when will we see its text?
And, will "handling" the waiver delay us in any way?

Clearly, signing the waiver when we arrive to pick up the car is easy,
but Nissan might consider that to be too late, and they might want
a signed waiver before the RFQ or the Ordering.

3. Will all RFQs (for the SL model) from any Orange County zip code area
be allowed to order the Level 3 (Quick Charge) option?

----
I just spent an hour on the pone with Nissan Customer Support, and
they do not yet know the answers to #2 or #3. They said that they will
call me tomorrow (Wed) with answers.

Yes you can order the Level 3 (Quick Charge) option based on your area.

Hi Danny.
I have a questions regarding the pricing. I know that we will pay for LEAF being shipped from Japan. Is this INCLUDED in MSRP? If it IS NOT included how much will the shipping be? I think I paid like $500 or $800 shipping on my Civic Hybrid which came from Japan.

THANK YOU!

We don't know the exact amount for the destination and handling charge yet. We will have that info shortly. It'll probably be in the range like what you've mentioned above.

The price of the SL model from Fontana will be $32,720, then there is an $820 destination charge for a total of $33,540. If you order any of the as-of-yet unpriced factory options (hologram kickplates, eco package, etc.), those will add in here. Then the grand total will have your sales tax (about $3,000) for a total of about $36,540 without the options discussed above. Then there is a doc. fee, the license registration fee, and the $99 credit for your reservation. I think you're looking at between $37K and $38K out the door... Any other fees I've forgotten?
