    The Battery Replacement Thread

We'll see. Here is where I am. I brought the car into the dealer. They told me to take it up with Nissan as their hands are tied. So I called them. They told me to take it back to the dealer and get the battery capacity documented and have the dealer submit the warranty claim. I did...

    The Battery Replacement Thread

Ok it finally happened. Lost the 4th bar today as the santa anna heat has taken the temperature up to 79. Ahr 43.34 Hx 44.97 odo=57,658. Unfortunately we took delivery in January 2011. I'll be contacting Nissan to see if there is any wiggle room on the time constraint of the warranty.

    The Battery Replacement Thread

I think we went from 10 to 9 about 9 months ago. I'm not exactly sure. We are in San Diego but not far from the coast and so not that effected by heat. Thanks for the info on the capacity. I'll get the app and the dongle and see where we are at. It would be nice not to have to create a...

    The Battery Replacement Thread

We did the software update a few years ago. We also have begun to use quick charging as just getting back from work has been a challenge. I'll take a look at leaf spy and see if I can get some data. It appears from the discussion that this data is not really relevant for Nissan to replace...

    The Battery Replacement Thread

Hello All, I've been absent from this forum for quite a while but we were early adopters and have a January 2011 delivered Leaf (251). We are hovering at 9 bars (54,600 miles) and have noticed quite a drop in actual driving miles in our car over the past year or so. We use to routinely charge...

Contact your Costco regarding charging stations?!?

I spoke to the manager of the Mission Valley Costco today. I had left a note last weekend asking if they were planning on installing a new charger. He said there is a pilot project to install some in San Diego Costco locations but since Mission Valley was not one of them he didn't really know...

    Car Cover Supplier?

I think it is the silverguard. The cover is a little unwieldy at first for one person until you get the hang of it. They give you a storage bag that is about 24" x 30" or so but getting it in there will take some precise folding. It probably weighs between 5 and 10 pounds. There is a trick...

    Car Cover Supplier?

My wife ordered this cover last week. We have used it overnight to charge in the cool Southern Cal evenings and had no problems so far, although we have only used it for a few days. There is plenty of space to open the charge hatch and the antenna fits fine. The fabric is definitely thicker...

    New Firmware Pushed : L2R.1.5A

I had problems with the original firmware, (incomplete charging, rebooting on it's own bad wifi connection) But since I ran an ethernet cable and updated the latest firmware I tried an 80% last night and it worked fine. Hopefully the problems are behind us. It would be nice if we could put...

ECOtality Level 2 charger : Blink

We had our Blink installed on Monday and it worked fine until last night. When I came home my wife had already plugged in the car but neither the Blink or the car was registering the connection. First I made sure the plug was in good because the connector is a bit different from the clipper...

Has the Leaf inspired you to drive more Zen like?

After my recent 70 mile RT on Sunday in our Leaf I noticed that even in my gas car I'm much more aware of driving over 65. I find myself staying in the right lane. It's not a strong urge to conserve but perhaps the Leaf has taught me the joys of taking it easy. Yesterday on the 52 I noticed...

This has to be a first!

It wasn't me (as mine or I should say my wife's since I only get in on the weekends.) Our's is white...I think the spreadsheet was messed up at some point....We should start asking Costco if they plan on upgrading their chargers. Is there anyway to make them backward compatible to the other...

Miles per kwh so far... my calcs vs. the LEAFs calcs

Thanks for posting Malcom. We took ours out to Carlsbad on Sunday with only 85 miles on the meter. I drove 65 in the right lane mostly behind a semi. Even then the right lane in SD is a stressful place to be. I didn't venture out of the right because I know it was going to be a tight trip...

Purdue study says CA makes EV charging too expensive

I will have a separate meter installed (part of the ecotality/SDGE program) so for at least the forst 2 years I will be billed separately for the car. I wonder what percentage of Californians this applies to? Do we need a poll? In the end won't it encourage Solar in california? I was...

    LEAF delivery a media event?

You should do what you think is best. If your wife wants to, have her do all the talking. You can slip out the back door and meet her at the coffee shop down the road.
