Looks like my time has come: dropped the 4th capacity bar yesterday on the way to lunch!

LeafDD Stats @full charge this morning:
SOC = 96.24%
AHr= 42.39
Hx = 43.43%
GID = 183
41k miles

Last time I saw 6TBs was last week (for 1 day); been @5TBs since.
Dropping Leaf off at dealer this Friday; they are going to give me a loaner (gasser). Service advisor indicated replacement pack availability is down to about a week again; I'll report back when I know more (or get my Leaf back).

Nice!

Congrats! Only a week for the new battery to arrive? I've been waiting 4 weeks now, still no word of any kind from Nissan or dealer... :x

Well, truck freight from TN to CA is going to take longer than to TX, for sure. But above that, it might (unfortunately) be last ordered, first served.

OK So since I acquired Leaf Spy a few weeks ago I have been watching my numbers. Here they are:

AHr Hx L1/L2 QC
Nov 6, 2015 43.68 45.56 4485 3
Nov 6, 2015 43.69 45.56 4486 4

Nov 18, 2015 44.28 46.54 4529 13

We still have 55372 miles but only until Jan 5th or so to drop our bar. Thoughts? Perhaps the QC's are reviving the battery?

Gosh, I don't know about that. Probably more to do with the way cooler weather for the last few weeks than anything else. You've had the P3327 update on your car, right?

I'd feel happier if your numbers were still in the low 43s. I think we'll just have to keep our fingers and toes crossed for you too.

I always saw the AHr numbers jump after QC on my 2011. Try to avoid QC and try to discharge deep into VLBW once in a while. I fear the boost in AHr numbers may cause you to run out of miles before you drop the bar.

I am joining the 4 Loss Bar Club. Went to 4 bars in Sept. waited until now to call in for battery diagnostic check which is scheduled for 11-12-15. I wanted the replacement to be installed in cooler weather. The Nissan rep informed me that I qualify for the Lizard Battery but the dealer needs to check it out first. Below are the numbers from LeafSpy Pro on my 2013 Leaf (02/13). Mileage is now at 31110. Hope things go as smooth as others. I live in Bermuda Dunes, CA. Near Palm Springs, same climate as Phoenix. I didn't take it in for the annual battery tests. I didn't know about it until I started reading this thread. I hope they still honor the warranty. Any thoughts?

After full charge:

SOC=91.7
SOH=60%
GID's=160 (56.9%)
Ah=36.24
kWh=12.4
Hx=53.76%
394.93v
75.7 degrees F

The service dept. confirmed that I had lost 4 bars and ordered a new battery for my 2013 Leaf. Gave me a ETA of 3 to 6 weeks. They told me they had 4 other batteries on order before mine, now it's 5. Seems to be a lot going out at once.

It's that time of the year... :D

My guess is that you aren't going to make it by Jan 5th, especially since the weather is cooling off. Where are you located? Unfortunately, you are one of the thousands of Leaf owners who are going to get cheated by the judge allowing Nissan to set the bar so high for capacity loss. The settlement says "70 percent", but 4 bar loss is more like 66%. That 4% difference would have gotten you a new battery.
I am also at 44 AHr right now, and 40,000 miles, but I have a whole year to go yet. With the cooler weather I might not lose the 4th bar until spring.

Well I guess I spoke too soon. Just a couple hours after I posted I got a call from the dealer saying the battery's in. Dropped the Leaf off tonight and should be driving home with a new battery tomorrow or Friday. :mrgreen:

Yes, the way cooler weather has definitely reversed the direction of my AHr numbers the last two weeks (from a low of 44.45 back up to 44.77 yesterday). And I haven't done that many QCs recently.

Plan some trips to put more miles/use on the car and put some metal to the peddle.

I was just given a battery pack ETA of 1 week; with the holiday next week, I should have my car back the following week worst case. Heads-up: they are also doing some sort of AC condenser replace/recall. Battery is definitely coming from TN :mrgreen:

Stanton, could you have taken your car home, or did service manager insist on keeping it?

-Karl

No; he told me before I ever came in that he needed to keep it. As it turns out, they are doing a couple of other things also (like the brake fluid) so this could be my last trip to the dealer in a long time (no more battery checks!).

First I have seen about that on a 2011.
Do you have the recall # :?:

No, and I hesitate to use the "r" word. He said there was something with the AC hoses or condenser (or something) that they were going to replace under warranty since they have the car (and the battery is the long pole in the delivery tent anyway).

Interesting. I hadn't heard of any problems with the early Leafs. The broken a/c fitting problem first showed up on U. S. built cars.

I agree with your philosophy regarding service visits. When my battery gets replaced, I'm done with that 170 mile round trip haul just for battery usage reports. Day lost from work, 15 gallons of diesel fuel burnt...

Don't know if I will leave the car or not. With a new battery I could try driving the Leaf home, so wouldn't need truck and flatbed. It worked out OK back in January of 2011...
