    ChargePoint now charging $$$

Thanks for the details. I got the Blink charging location off of the Car Nav computer. I probably (incorrectly) assumed it was all ChargePoint, but there's also no way to understand whose network is being offered in the display. The point was really just a need statement that perhaps there would...

    ChargePoint now charging $$$

I tried to make a planned trip from Gig Harbor to Seattle. Looked up ChargePoint stations, and found one @ 4th/Madison in the garage. $26 to park there for the afternoon (5 hours). I could not find any of the City of Seattle stations that are supposedly right around the corner. BUT The...

    I-key system fault

My understanding is that it was the traction battery that was dead, although the dealer did not specify and just said completely dead battery. My understanding is that the 12v would have been working fine since the radio, instrumentation panels, lights, etc. were all operational.

    I-key system fault

Great link. what isn't clear is if the unit 'up-converts' 120v to 240v, or if it simply adds another adapter for 240v plug. This looks like it may be the economical answer to a fixed 240v EVSE unit, which are quoted @ about $2k, installed by Nissan. I'd probably have to just buy one outright...

    I-key system fault

I live in Gig Harbor, WA. The Dealer is located in Fife, WA (Tacoma). There are Nissan dealers in Bremerton and Olympia, Seattle and Bellevue, but those are definitely less convenient. The trickle charger worked fine for me thus far, as most of my driving is during core daytime hours and I can...

    I-key system fault

Update from local Nissan service department said that I completely depleted the battery to the point where it could not be recharged. Dead flat, and not coming back online. I'm not sure what they did between our 2 conversations (AM and PM), but a follow-up message from service department said...

Said goodbye to the Leaf yesterday

I live in Washington State (South Puget Sound area), and commute to downtown Bellevue and Seattle regularly. ~45 miles each way.

Said goodbye to the Leaf yesterday

Our previous vehicle was a Land Rover Range Rover HSE. V8, 12-16mpg, $125 to fill the tank and that got us ~340 miles. Commutting 100 miles a day round trip is filling up 2x a week, and burning through the residual fuel on Sat/Sun. I do the same 100 miles a day for $3/day in electricity now...

How do I bypass the "accept" action when I start the leaf?

+1. Should have a checkbox to accept terms and conditions permanently, and a way to re-arm that feature should the car be sold, transferred, etc. My guess is that they know that cannot predict who will be driving it, and that's why you have to accept T&C's each time, but since we have no idea...

    I-key system fault

Same problem yesterday. Would not accept a charge, also. Off to dealer for diagnosis and repair. My biggest concern is that I am hoping that the dealership has trained technicians who are capable and competent to repair. Basically the Leaf is an Eletrical Engineering (EE) monstrosity, with...

Said goodbye to the Leaf yesterday

With any kind of emerging technology, there are risks. We all chose to accept them based upon the benefits provided, like not having to pay for gasoline. That's still a pretty compelling formula. I find that my Leaf fits my needs perfectly as a local-use 'grocery getter' and roundtrip...

    Don't have an accident!

Normally there's a fixed amount of time before insurance stops paying for rental car, and which you can expect your car to be repaired and returned in 'like new' condition. while it's not the insurance company's fault, this is why cars are frequently 'totalled' - as in total loss. it sounds as...
