    Replacement Part Costs

I had the exact same problem (bent inner tie rod) on my 2015 LEAF. I ordered The Dorman 523-243 replacement. It was not compatible. The threads on the steering rack side are larger and much finer than the ones on the original. Left side is the original, right is Dorman 523-243 See image here...

The Study I've Been Waiting For: UCS on EV Costs, Emissions

I do wish they would have sourced their numbers on the refinery side. The numbers on the electrical generation side are already fairly well understood. Perhaps this is why they were able to source them so well, and had to be vague on the refining side. I suspect that the petroleum industry PR...

The Study I've Been Waiting For: UCS on EV Costs, Emissions

From http://205.254.135.7/emeu/mecs/iab98/petroleum/energy_use.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I'm not sure if this supports your statement or not, but here it is. :-) I think the real question here is, could this be directly comparable? If the plant was not refining...

The Study I've Been Waiting For: UCS on EV Costs, Emissions

Looks like I spoke too soon. They indicate that they did use well to wheels emissions for both gasoline powered vehicles and EVs. I could not find numbers they used for upstream emissions for gasoline. I'd be interested to see what they came up with (and how). Thanks!

The Study I've Been Waiting For: UCS on EV Costs, Emissions

All that, even though they don't include upstream emissions from the production of diesel or gasoline. (Which seem to be pretty huge) Thanks!

215 watt panels for only 78 cents per watt!

My panels have also arrived! They look great! Does anybody know of a good place to get a deal on the Enphase micro-inverters and cables? Thanks!

$9900 Nissan Level III chargers come to the US

Sounds like a great use case for fast chargers backed by ~60kWh worth of used LEAF packs (someday), to kill the demand charges.

Leaf got laughed at last night

Burning rubber == not moving forward. The Mustang is a sports car, right? Where is the launch control?

    Official Toyota Prius PHEV thread

After this news, I think I understand the Nissan strategy for the LEAF. http://www.plugincars.com/quick-charging-plus-better-batteries-equals-mainstream-electric-cars-107844.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; http://www.nissan-global.com/EN/REPORTS/2011/09/110905.html"...

Forbes Takes Issue with the Leaf

I think a better critique of a plan which promotes a large scale switch to CNG vehicles is that it pushes us to another painful transition point in the future. Electric vehicles decouple the fuel source from the vehicle, CNG vehicles do not. Thanks!

The Climate Reality Project - Great Info & Resources

I think this site covers most of the high level issues: http://www.skepticalscience.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I'd need to lookup similar resources if you are holding misconceptions (and they're almost certainly misconceptions) which are not covered by that site. Edit...

The Climate Reality Project - Great Info & Resources

Yodrak and the thousands like him who hold similar views are living proof that it's much easier to spread confusion, uncertainty, and doubt then it is to educate. A few huge, entrenched businesses have so much to lose once we come to our collective senses, that paying a few hundred million to...

Portable QC from 30A J1772 or other 240v source

The LEAF has a built in isolation monitor, so using a non-isolated charger might be possible. Also, this is interesting: http://www.ev-charging-infrastructure.com/media/downloads/inline/takafumi-anegawa-tepco-11-20.1290790915.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Thanks!

is it possible to make a 6.6kw converter/dongle for the QC?

Something like this would be a good foundation for a CAN controlled charger for the LEAF: http://www.emotorwerks.com/cgi-bin/VMcharger.pl This is described as a 10Kw CAN controlled charger for $600. Seems pretty cool. :-)

Top Gear Gets Caught By CarWings

Fair enough. That was my main disappointment with them. If they would have explained why what they were doing was ridiculousness, then almost nobody would have cared. I guess they'd get less press as well, which might be the root of the issue. :-)

Top Gear Gets Caught By CarWings

Fair enough. I just made up 1000, since I don't know where to get data on that. On this note, are your arguing that a celebrity reinforcing negative misconceptions from a position of assumed authority isn't a bad thing? From my point of view, It seems a like a pretty crappy thing to do. Thanks!
