Thanks Stoaty. Sorry for not being clear but I was actually asking about the impact of the P3227 Leaf software upgrade on reported capacity numbers.
Could that be the reason some people have seen a large drop in reported capacity since the summer, or is it likely to be the cooler autumn...
Hi, great effort on this. Just a couple of quick queries (apologies if they have been answered elsewhere):

If Smart can option a $5,000 "buy-out" option on their battery lease, why can't Nissan? At least consumers will then have the choice on which route to go based on their own circumstances.
Definitely not an extended warranty. If you choose to replace your old battery with a new one, you are committed to pay $100 (or whatever) a month for the LIFETIME of the car (which has not been defined by Nissan). If you stop paying, they can takeaway the battery (and sue you for breach of...
Lifetime commitment to pay the battery rental makes no sense. Basically if you stop paying they will leave you a car with no battery! Also, what happens if your pack is damaged in an accident. Is you insurer obliged to continue paying the battery rental forever or will you still be on the hook?
Thanks for offering this FairwoodRed.
Just out of interest, why are you modifying the "mini" version rather than the "stubby" version of the ELM327? I would have thought the stubby version is easier to open and modify?
TMS is not really required in temperate places like the UK - so if Nissan do decide to include it in the future, I hope they would offer it as an option.
