I actually agree that if going directly from a "normal" ICE car to a full EV, it's a big change. Many of us drove hybrids in between, and that serves as a 'bridge' experience.

I could not find a way past the paywall using Edge as my browser so was only able to listen to or read the first part of the article.

As someone who grew up around farm machinery and motorcycles and has owned or driven many different vehicles over the years, I think the learning curve was very short when I drove a LEAF for the first time. The only issue was remembering "foot on brake and then press start button". That was not common in 2011, but now many cars (both electric and gasoline) have pushbutton start. I have more trouble with hybrids than with either electric or gasoline and I really hate the automatic engine stop at stoplights on many new gasoline engine vehicles.
