It's amazing how many Leafs there are in the Woodinville. Way out here on the Eastside, miles away from downtown Seattle, it is unbelievable how many Leafs are actually on the road here.

In addition to my own Blue one... to date have seen:
2 other Blue
1 White
1 Red
1 Silver

What's the probability in a small little sleepy town?

I just happened to be visiting Bothell earlier this week, and I was quite pleased to see a silver Leaf heading north on 405 (actually from Kirkland) as I drove back to Sea-Tac (to fly home to San Diego). It had a bright yellow dealer's plate with red lettering I think.

You can add my little blue one to your list--just delivered yesterday!

It is surprising that there are so many of us here in Woodinville, of all places! We should organize a little get-together/convoy in the Safeway parking lot at the north end of Avondale... :)

Let me know if there's any interest, and I'll organize something!

Ok, well even if there isn't enough interest in a gathering, I'd still be interested in comparing notes with another local Leaf owner over coffee.

Feel free to give me a ring at two oh six two eight oh nine eight five five.

All the best,
-Brad

I'll give you a shout if shoreline is included. I was thinking it would be fun to have a north end gathering, even Seattle metro area... There should be quite a few of us.

Well we could do a Bothell, Woodinville and Redmond loop. I'm in for any of the next 3 or 4 Saturdays or Sundays. Any takers?

Pick a suitable place, set a time, and see how many show up.
Once you get together, you will most likely want to do it again.

If you choose an inexpensive breakfast place, the worst that can
happen is that you will have a nice, peaceful meal. :D

Our group here has been as low as two when we started, and now
in out 11th month of meetings, we have two a month (at different
locations, to cover more area) and have had up to around 30 bodies.

Most folks have a lot of questions, and experiences to share.

May be we could do an "Eastside" meet !

I drove into the WCLC parking lot with 16 mis. left on the charge last Friday (7/10/11) and found the charging cable ripped out. Learned it was the second vandalism in one week; kids stealing copper wire. Lucky to get a trickle charge from front door outlet that got me to Eastside Nissan.

Wow, that sucks. Hopefully someone will catch the little @#$@# and hook them up to a car battery for a while since they obviously want a bit of a charge themselves.

If you've got time on Sat, July 16th, drop in at NW SolarFest, on the campus of Shoreline C.C. There is an EV-ONLY section of the event. If you want to drop in and enjoy the event, you can even come inside the grounds with your LEAF (escorted by a volunteer) to the EV exhibit area and park right there. In addition to abunch of LEAFs, 2 Tesla roadster owners have committed to be there, and the "EV" with a tailpipe (AKA Volt) will too.

The day-long event is free, and has 100 exhibitors, vendors, food, KID Zone (with free giveaway solar electric mini-cars while supplies last), live music, beer garden, Graham Kerr (the Galloping Gourmet), solar cooking, and a whole lot of fun.

Please come by and show off your car. People need to see lots of LEAFs to get the idea that they're real, they work, and they're owned by regular people. If you want more info on the event, check out www.shorelinesolar.org.

I live in Snohomish, but frequent Woodinville, and have been surprised by the concentration of LEAFs in the area. Parked next to a Glacier Pearl one at Costco last week, in fact. Awesome to see so many of you in the area!

Sorry, guys, I've been away from the board.

The solar/EV event sounded cool! I'm sorry I missed it.

Ironically, *today* would be an awesome day to get together, but it's not enough notice. Anyone up for next Saturday, July 30th at noon? Of course, anyone from Shoreline (or any other area) is welcome!

Here's what I'm thinking:

1) We meet next Saturday July 30, at Starbucks in DT Woodinville at noon.
2) From there we grab a drink and/or snack (this is essential as you'll see) reset our trip odometers and head off along this route (13.4mi), with a couple of hills. This will be our own little "LA4" homemade driving cycle.
3) We arrive at Tully's in Redmond, and grab a quick lunch* and compare notes, swap stories, etc. (Note that this gives you the all-important opportunity to compare the brands of coffee--obviously essential to any self-respecting Seattle-area dweller... :))
4) Head on home!

*Tully's is on me for the driver who makes the most energy efficient Woodinville-Redmond 1 "WR1" driving cycle! :D

What do you guys think--sound like a fun way to spend an hour and a half or so on a Saturday afternoon? Please let me know here in the thread so we can get some idea of the interest level. It would be awesome to get a nice Leaf EV convoy going! :)

All the best,
-Brad

My wife will be away and I'll have the kids but I'll see what I can do. Is there a charging station we could all decend en mass on to boost exposure somewhere near a coffee shop?
G

http://www.mychargepoint.net/find-stations.php (typing "woodinville, wa" in the address field) shows three stations close by.

Note that #1, the Woodinville Cross Lutheran Church's charger seems to have it's charge cable stolen :( (as reported on this thread). But they're nowhere near a coffee shop.

There are three more listed in Redmond, what looks like several blocks away from Redmond Town Center. (Not terribly conveniently located.)

Note, on Saturday AM, I'll be driving from my home over on the east side of Woodinville, to downtown Seattle, then on to Ballard, and then coming back to downtown Woodinvile for this, then driving from Redmond back home, all without charging. Not sure how far you're planning to drive, but I've been very impressed with the range of this vehicle so far.

All the best,
-Brad

I'm there... see you Saturday at noon. Assume you mean the starbucks on the corner in the same parking lot as Albertsons (corrected once I looked at your map for the route) :|

Brad your original plans sounds like the best for now, let's keep it simple. I'll try and meet up with you all at next months meeting, this weekend I'm home alone with the 2 year old and infant... Wish me luck!
