seems to be a nice platorm with good stuff.

Without a major upgrade to the Leaf soon, things are going to get very tight for Nissan... Even with the same range as the Leaf, there is a growing list of EV competitors that offer a much nicer vehicle experience...

Sounds like the 2015 Golf will be a bit nicer for tall people as well.

Perhaps the most exciting interior change in the new Golf is how taller drivers can now be accommodated without them having to take lessons from a contortionist.

An electric Golf. Wonder where they got that idea from :)

It has better battery management too:

However, unlike the LEAF, the E-Golf uses a liquid-cooled battery management system, which should mean more consistent range throughout the year. Liquid cooling keeps batteries warm in winter and cool in summer—minimizing the impact of temperature on driving range.

And weighs less than the Leaf - might have more range.

This article implies it has DC quick charging...

And that's one sexy interior too:

16x9

it does not seem to have fast charging... how big is the battery pack? have to wonder why articles like this put out stats like HP, torque, etc and then leave out essential information.

i do like the variable regen options but other than that, hard to see this as a LEAF competitor unless you live in one of the compliance states and are near a compliance willing dealer and...

ahh, too many "and's!"

They had me at "liquid cooled pack..."
And an interior that does not look like a Versa...
And a decent suspension with IRS...
And a really good infotainment system...
Etc.

My next EV must have those things, regardless of who makes it and all the other considerations.

No, it doesn't have a liquid-cooled pack, after hot weather testing they decided they didn't need it. It's Deja Vu all over again.

I assume what you want is a battery that doesn't degrade in heat. Requiring it to be liquid cooled assumes a solution.
Folks may successfully come up with battery chemistry that is unaffected by heat, in which case it would be good enough.

Why isn't this topic merged with the other one with exactly the same title, and with both started by the same person?

Good question. Someone unlocked the referred topic as well-
