maybe so, but 1% is better than say .5%

Most consumers fail to give any consideration to electric vehicles. The presence of them on the street and word of mouth will eventually change this-- but the initial phase will be very slow.. and 1% is about all we can expect. Eventually the market share will rise, but I think the factors will be consumers seeing longevity (such as the Leaf that just hit 100,000 miles) and then increased range. I personally have no need for increased range but I think uninformed consumers need to hear a higher number to feel comfortable with an EV, even if though the current range would be adequate for a large percent of commuters.
