Electric Mirror Noises

Hi all - I had my left hand electric wing mirror starting to make a loud 'creaking' sound when opening and closing, and now the drivers side is starting very slightly also. I have tried oiling, and a (non EV specific) garage said it is more likely the motors failing? Any thoughts or experiences appreciated.
