Are people open to 1/6 instead of 1/5, if forecast says 1/6 is better than 1/5 ? We won't have good forecast until 1/2 or so.

I could but that is SuperBowl day and I am thinking that some folks might have other sorts of plans. My thought is that there is no perfect day in the NW. I don't think this will be the only event of this type - just the first. So let's stick a pole in the ground and stick with it. Then make a follow up event for March, etc..

I can only do saturday. Work sunday plus super bowlnot good fay I think....and besides who can predict weather that far in advance around here?

Oh yes.

So 1/5/11 @ 1:00 PM it is.

Now we need a show of hands & whether you might be bringing your (yet to be delivered) Leaf.

I'd like to car pool with anyone going from / through Issaquah/Sammamish/Bellevue/Redmond areas. Esp if you have a Leaf by then

+1 LEAF - (just increment in replies)

my wife won't have any interest in attending so I can pick up/carpool from North Seattle (Greenlake area) anyone to Renton and back.

We all "know" its 2/5 so I forgo that comment but I be leafing one way or the other. Its 50 miles there so I probably only need a small boost to make it home so I be leafing for sure since I GOT MY "ONE WEEK EMAIL!!!

Adding Dave & blorg

Total : 5
Leafs : 3

Updated Two, me and Mrs. Bud

TDog I promise no bad jokes if we can get a ride with you in your Leaf?

Little Bud has a soccer game on Sunday the 6th. I guess that means I won't be watching the Seahawks then.

ok. my plan. leave early. go to Younkers Nissan and plug in for about an hour. then head to the Cafe. will be coming up I-5.

what is the "flattest" route to cross over from I-5 to 167?

i am tempted to just try to hypermile and make it, but that would be just about a 100 mile RT and dont really want to chance it since i probably wont have had enough experience by then to know its range or my driving acuity? stinginess? performance?

alternatively, i could stop at Rairdons and charge up a bit. not sure how Younkers would react since i did not get the car there and Rairdons is just 10 miles farther down 167 so that would be right on the way.

Limited on-street Parking, but reportedly there is an "open" lot at 225 S Logan Ave. ?? ... and some other parking just a "few blocks" away?

A "smaller" establishment, probably OK for smaller groups.
Apparently it has WiFi available.
CASH only, no "charging"! :)

Enjoy, and please let us know how it works out.

If you are bringing a LEAF, you might call ahead and see if the owner (Mike, I think) can "reserve" a parking spot right in front of his cafe, for your special "attraction". Just an idea.

It's on a one-way street, I think.

How about the big blue and yellow box in south Renton? Wifi, acres of free parking and breakfast served at 9 am on Saturday, Swedish pancakes and Lingonberries $1.99 and scrambled eggs and bacon $.99, and I can charge it. Store opens at 10 am. Eco-sensitive retailer. They might feature the Leafs in their covered parking area near the entrance. I'll have to stop there anyway if my significant other hears that there is a reason to go to Renton.

r u referring to Ikea?

The absolute flattest route would be to take River Road (exit 135) into Puyallup, then cross over the river on Meridian and pick up 167. But the second flattest route would be to take 512 (exit 127) over to 167. 512 has the benefit of that nice long downhill heading into Puyallup, and avoids the stoplights on River Road/Meridian. I'd take 512.

On your way to Auburn, if you are wanting to get some regen power coasting down a hill, take Highway 18 from I5 to Hwy 167, or take 512 and coast down to 167. On you way home, stay on Hwy 167 (River Road) all the way through Puyallup and get on I5 at the Emerald Queen Casino, there are more traffic lights on the River Road route. http://www.bing.com/maps/default.aspx?v=2&cp=47.23552688273921~-122.4084847792983&lvl=11&dir=0&sty=r&rtp=pos.47.039225_-122.89143_Olympia%2C%20WA___e_~v.47.208950794529215_-122.33298823828117_SR-167%20%2F%20River%20Rd%20E~pos.47.3074_-122.23041_Auburn%2C%20WA___e_&mode=D&rtop=0~0~0~

ok, that might work. its only 2.6 miles farther using 512.

only thing is that the curve at the bottom of the Puyallup hill near the fairground is scary at anything over 65 mph

but this would be an experiment. see how many trees i can get?

I wonder whether I'll get my Leaf by 1/5 ... now that my carwings opened up.

hmm, wonder if there is a correlation from when you get your VIN to delivery?

now, i could probably give u my guess if i could remember when my VIN became available??

I think the first batch got delayed quite a bit, as we know. Hopefully the second one is more streamlined with no QC problems.
