Linda, the order that you are placing is just specifying the vehicle trim, color, options and accessories. You are not signing a contract to purchase. You will do that when the car arrives at the dealership. If you delay order acceptance, you will just be delaying the delivery date.

I know the feeling. I was eligible to order on 08/31 (which I was ecstatic about when I first got the email), but unfortunately due to website glitches on Nissan's end of things, I was unable to order until 09/11 -- and despite what I was assured about initially, the latest info from a Nissan customer service supervisor is that the delay will in fact impact my delivery date. oh well.
On the bright side, the process from RAQ->quote receipt->placing order took a grand total of 3 minutes, since the dealer and I were in constant contact. Here are the details of my order:
Trim: SV + Eco package + cargo net << $MSRP [exact price redacted by request, though suffice it to say that for the same configuration my local gilroy dealer wanted over $36k and the offer I accepted is significantly less! my only hesitation is that I'm a bit nervous about getting the eco package completely sight unseen]
Destination charge = $820
Documentation = $55
Sales Tax (9.25%) = $1694
Dealer = Boardwalk Nissan in Redwood City, CA (though I live in Gilroy, ~50mi away).

I got shafted by my local dealer on my first quote. Anyone else in the Hayward area, do not deal with Hayward Nissan. They took 7 days to get me my quote, were ridiculously high ($40,415), and I could not get a hold of anyone to talk to (e-mail message also went unanswered).
After some searching, I found this forum, and wish I had known about it earlier. I contacted both North Bay and Boardwalk. Though Boardwalk is closer to me, I ended up going with North Bay because they gave me better pricing. My RAQ had opened up on Sept 1, and I finally was able to place my order on Sept 11. I'm hoping to take delivery in Dec, although I know it probably won't be until Jan. So excited!
